This is driving me crazy..lol

Ok, so we have CRT booked for dinner on the last night of our trip. We thought it would be something really fun to look forward to. We have never eaten there before and think the experience of eating in the castle would be so much fun. We would be celebrating our anniversary and dh's birthday as well...

It would be myself, dh and ds5.

We are kinda picky eaters and when we look at the pics of the food there it just does not look too great.. Am I wrong here?

So we have been considering changing this and trying something we have never tried before..like a Boma dinner.. but again the whole picky eater thing..lol If we did this we would have enough dining credits to add in another lunch or breakfast some place as well.

So, what should we do?? Keep the CRT for the experience of it and to hopefully enjoy our anniversary dinner??? or change it and try Boma and something else we have not yet tried?

Any thoughts would be great! :)

I was in the same boat as you. We have CRT booked for breakfast for one of the days of our trip. I'm not sure the food is worth the expense with with DD4 and DD5, we decided the princess interaction will be worth it. I hope so.

Good luck on making a decision.

As for Boma, I know most say it is great. I have 5 Very picky eatters in my family, I am the only non-picky eatter! We went to Boma's last may and none of us cared for it. Our favorite place was Wolfgang Pucks in DownTown Disney! Good Luck with your decision!

I was in the same boat as you... I thought it would be nice for DD2. we went last week. If we had to pay out of pocket and not on our DDP I would have been really upset. The food was kinda gross at breakfast. There was nothing really to eat, it was cold and when my DH asked for more it took 30 mins to get it and by then the place was empty and they were looking at us hinting to leave. The princesses were not that friendly.. I was shocked by how rude Belle was. She took 1 picture and turned around and left. My DH made a joke to me that maybe she had to pee really bad.... and the same thing with Jasmine. 1 picture and ran. We did not do the autographs because DD is too you and it would be me doing it.

We too did the CRT for dinner on May 4th. It was a nice time but definitely not worth $200 for my fam of 5. Service and food was good, but at that price we had hoped for more bang for the buck. Also Cinderella just posed for pics before we were called for dinner and after that we only saw the Fairy GM and mice for a very short time. My husband and I don't regret it but we both agreed for the experience itself, it's not much of one. I actually kept waiting for something more to happen. I hope this helps. If you're on the DP ck it out, otherwise I'd go somewhere else for the $$.

I'd lean to 1900 Park Faire for dinner instead. The Stepsisters are hilarious, and the buffet is good.

My parents and I ate at the castle for dinner on May 15th. We thought it was fabulous. Expensive, yup. But you can't beat eating in the castle. My mom and I had the BLT salad for the appetizer and my dad had the crab and corn soup. Everyone loved their appetizers. I had the pasta dish for the entree (name slips my mind), and my parents both had the prime rib. That was the largest cut of meat either had seen in a restaurant, and it was a struggle to finish it. They thought it was excellent. I didn't care for my pasta at first, but then it grew on me. Dessert was chocolate cream cheese buckle with chocolate ice cream for all of us. Delicious, and I only wish I had had more room to finish all of it.

Is the food and photos worth the cost? No. But eating in the castle definitely is. I love characters even at my age (25), but face characters not so much. So just Cinderella in the lobby was perfect for me. I enjoyed the show by the Fairy Godmother and the mice; the mice circulated for pictures with diners, the FG didn't. All in all, I'd go again in a heartbeat. But if face characters are most important to you, dinner isn't a good choice. Tell them to note on your reservation it's your anniversary and your DH's birthday; you never know what pixie dust might go your way! I was lucky enough to get a birthday cupcake, which was also quite yummy. :goodvibes GL with whatever you decide! :wizard:

While i think the castle is amazing!, i am not a fan of the new menu or the manadatory photo package. So until that changes, it is not on my list.

I do like Boma. Took hubby there in January for his first visit. He is into simpler food, and was happily surprised to find many choices he enjoyed.

There are so many other choices too. Skipping the castle would give you 2 different choices or a diff signature.

Hard choices, huh? Good luck planning, let us know what yu decide :cool1:

If you want to create the memort of DD5 just do it and don't think rationally about it while your there. Enjoy the food items you like, but bask in her delight and give yourself the chance to simply enjoy being in the Castle.

Honestly, as your last night on the DP you'll likely have eaten really well the entire trip and won't be starved, so go with lower expectations and appetite and perhaps be pleasantly surprised. :thumbsup2

You could also pay for one adult and still have 2 credits available for another meal.

i'd go with 1900 and the stepsisters - CRT is a bit overrated....

magical, "have to do it once" special, but quite expensive and you can see the princesses elsewhere

Thanks so much for all the thoughts guys. We don't have a little girl so we are not really wanting to do that for the princess part of it. We would just love to eat "in the castle". I don't think DS cares either way really..lol We thought it would just be a neat place to celebrate our anniversary..haha::yes::

Last night we started thinking about Narcoosee's (sp?). That would be easy to do on that night since we could just hop on the monorail from MK and go eat there. We have never been there before..wondering if that would be a good trade off??

Boma is out as we can not get an adr there. We called last night and they are all booked up.

Choices are SOOO HARD to make! :rotfl:

I just added a poll as well...

Here are the meals we are having on the trip already if that helps...

LTT (dinner)
WCC (dinner)
Rainforest Cafe (dinner)
Le Cellier (dinner)
Ragland Road (dinner)
Chefs de France (lunch)
Crystal Palace (early dinner before mnsshp)
1900 PF (breakfast)

We did the CRT breakfast last year and had a very positive experience. The food was good, the princesses were many and attentive, and the waiter (Dave) was great. We lucked out and had just about the last reservation time (I think is was 11:00 or 11:30) so the place had pretty much cleared out but the princesses stayed so our granddaughters (6 of them) got a lot of attention. Our grandsons (5 of them) could have cared less about the princesses. But, having said that, was it "worth" two TS credits? I don't think so. Breakfast at the Crystal Palace is more fun and half the price. In my opinion, for your anniversity, there are better 2 TS restaurants that you can pick. Or have you looked at the Canadian Restaurant in EPCOT (for 1 TS)?
