<----science teacher.

i would mark them all correct in my class. but i'm only concerned with #7. i would say compound.

HS chemistry teacher here. All are correct, except he misspelled evaporate.

Had the book left at school happen many times. You posted at 1:30 pm, why can't you just run back to school get the book?
We have had classmates scan the necessary pages and e-mail them or fax them in the past too.

I knew there must be someone here to help us out. Now on to the last part which are even harder they are essay questions. I think he is on track for the 1st question but the second question I am drawing blanks for it.

The one question is describe how a kind of matter evaporates. Use an ice cube as an example. Doesn't this have to do with the change in the environment around the matter? My son says we are taking the ice cube out of a cold environment and we bring it out to a counter in the kitchen, it changes from a cold to a warmer environment. I guess that sounds right but isn't there more to this than that? Are we on the right track for this?

All I can say is wow, for a third grader to have to know this stuff is amazing. I am on a temporary layoff and I am amazed at what my son is learning.

We have no other phone number of classmates. Good idea on that, we need to get some phone numbers.
Forgot to mention that the words were given to him for the 12 questions, they are condenses, different, physical, evaporates, liquid, property, mass, matter, states, measured, mixture, volume.

Question 8 is wrong. The test is missing the forth state of matter - plasma. :rotfl2:

You are absolutely right to be amazed by what a 3rd grader is learning these days. I know I am!

Ah, I see, the board adjusted for my time zone. What grade is he in? I made more than one trip back to school to get books from my kids lockers. With all the sports teams practicing until 6:30 pm (or later) and teachers hanging around, we always had access to lockers and classrooms until early evening, until 9 or 9:30 pm if there were choir, band or other after school events going on.
