So, DH and I are supposed to go to Baltimore this June just the two of us, but I was thinking, Baltimore is a great place to visit, but I know somewhere even better... :wizard: So I called our AAA agent, and if we go for 3 days, 2 nights at one of the value resorts (not to happy about that, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!) and only getting a park hopper for 2 days it would come to almost exactly $1,000 (with $420 for airfare). Now, we don't have a disposible income at all, but the way I figure it is this - Going to Baltimore would have cost us between $500-$650 (the hotel is $300 alone). I have my own personal business account, and I said I would pay for most of Disney trip, maybe only taking about $400-$500 out of our family account (the same amound the Baltimore trip would have cost us). Hes still totally against it and really mad that I keep pushing it!!:headache: I know we are going as a family in December, but I think this would be a great way to "stake out" what we want for our girls, and what would waiste our time, and to have some great alone time there - something were not going to get much/any of with the kiddos.
So what do you guys think - how can I convince him to go??? He says that its just not enough time to enjoy anything and it would be a waiste.... I somewhat agree with him, 3 days isn't enough time to do EVERYTHING, but 30 days isn't enough time to do everything either - I'll take wat I can get!!! Any words of wisdom would be very helpfull - I want to go so badly I may just go without him!!!

TIA

I think if it were me, as I am tossing this around right now, that's a three day trip would be for non-Disney site things. For $300 @ for myself and daughter 12, for 8 days staying off site it is between $300 and $400 a piece including airfair hotel, not the park tickets.

I would love to do, what we normally do not get to do at Disney. There is Sea World, the Mid Evil times again, along with there little town, There is Kennedy Space Center and the ocean, Maybe even a two day hopper, as long as we are there for 8 days, But I do not consider this a marathon Disney trip,

I want to do all the things that a on-sited trip would not allow us to devote a lot of time. We just had a week at Disney in Oct 07 and one Oct 06 and it will be nice if it is do-able again... but I am sure there is so very much more to do.
Do what feels best. Hubby's don't get Disney like a rpmantic fanticy filled gal does.

I got a link too for discount 3 day Carnival cruise even, for dirt cheap,
That would be so neat and something we definatly would not do on a devoted Disney trip, Only $370ish each.
It is a stop in Miami, Key West, a day stop at Carribean area, a day at sea and back to port... I think it was through Boscovs travel center.com

I did a trip to Baltimore and was not at all impressed. Maybe because we did not do ships, we did the Aquarium. A lot of walking to see a lot of fish in tanks... I would rather have stayed at Rehoboth a few more days for sure,

Just my thoughts... But as far as adding a mini Mickey visit, I don't know... there is so much more to Orlando area... Oh, the value resorts, I never had a stay that was not excellent. Except for a crazy key reader not working two days. The cafeteria had great full meals for just $6-9... Including half chicken roasted and flounder dinner.

The kids loved the Sports music, but I think I would like a Pop century visit too.

All I read about the other resorts is nice, but I would rather have the money in my pocket and spendable then in theirs as a room is just to sleep in... Unless you are honey mooning.

Oh, some off site saving with flight and hotel at real nice places for 8 days, I got great deals.

Not happening - no way, no how. He usually gives in to me after a while... not this time! Guess I have to wait 8 MORE MONTHS!!!!

A guy thing, he just does not get the fantasy of Disney. You can never get enough.
THe time will fly. In the mean time there is a ton of preparing and research to be a book of knowledge on DW. Coupons galore to find, special sites not to miss. A map to make, things to pack and not pack.

I am having the opposite problem, I want to fit a Rehoboth trip this year, we did Disney in OCt. DH is saying , go-go...but the economy, gas, I can do 8 days w/o food cost for $1200 for the daughter and me.
But, he has been there so many times and "gets it."
Happy planning

In response to a PP, SOME husbands get Disney. I had to talk DW into it. I personally would be frustrated with such a short stay. After DW went with me, she wants to take our neice and her sister & husband. SIL wanted a shorter trip. I said the shortest I would consider would be four days (one for each park) & six nights. I'm not going to do a park on a travel day. DTD or Cirque yes, but not a park. I could be talked into a REvisit of a park we had already been to on departure day. SIL seems to be going along with the idea.
