My family and I are very close to making the decision to go to Paris next year (probably in August) and spend a few days at DLP. We went to DLP in 2004 and while we liked it, we didn´t love it. I´m pretty sure that the weather had a lot to do with that though, as it was unusually cold for the time of year that we went and we were literally freezing the entire time.

We love Disney and have been to Disneyland California and Disneyworld numerous times. However, our budget won´t allow for a Florida trip in the near future.

Flights to Paris are relatively cheap from Iceland and we have free accommodation at Radisson Blu at DLP and at Radisson hotels in Paris. We would therefore probably spend 3-4 days at DLP and 5-6 in Paris.

Has anyone stayed at the Radisson Blu at Disneyland? Did you like it?

I´d love to hear all the stories about what you love about DLP. I´m sure it would help me find the magic! :goodvibes

Haven't stayed at the Radisson, so can't help you there....would love to know to get free accommodation though :worship:

August is very busy, but it's a pretty safe bet for warmer weather :thumbsup2

Thanks!

We won 365 free nights at any Radisson Blu worldwide last year and have 5 years to use them :)

When you say DLP is busy in August, how busy is it? Have you been to Disneyworld? Can you compare it to like Easter or Thanksgiving?

Wow, what a fantastic prize :goodvibes

Can't help you with the Disneyworld comparison either, but I'm sure someone else will advise.

Part of the DLP magic for us, is simply the fact that you can combine it with a trip to Paris. 3-4 days at DLP and 5-6 in Paris sounds ideal to me :worship:

All the best!

Wow, what a prize! :yay:

August at DLP is actually my favourite time to go because I think the late summer evenings (and hopefully they'll be warm ones :goodvibes ) and fireworks far outweigh any crowds or queues. I've been in WDW over Easter and IMO August at DLP is very manageable using EMH and fastpass. As I gather you'd need to buy park tickets I'd suggest you looked at getting Dream annual passes instead which would allow you access to EMH plus discounts on food and shopping.

I think weather can have a huge impact on a holiday so sometimes I think this is one of the reasons why some people don't feel the same magic at DLP as they do at the US parks. I remember we were very apprehensive before our first visit, worrying that it would be a let down after WDW, but when we arrived, even though we were met with a sea of yellow ponchos exiting the park due to rain, we totally fell in love with it  and when the sun came out ...... :cloud9:

I agree with Mark that the proximity to Paris makes it very attractive - we're planning to combine next summer's trip to DLP with two or three nights in Paris. We've always very much enjoyed our holidays to WDW but the parks are very spaced out and I do love how everything at DLP is within walking distance.

Hoping you'll find a bit more magic next time. pixiedust:

Thank you for your help! I appreciate it :)

I´m sure it will be a great trip if we go. I´m already excited!

Sorry where you from?? :rotfl2:

How Ironic! lol

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I know, it´s hard to believe.
Yes, I´m from Iceland and at that time I was living in Denmark. But it was oh so cold in France at that time. The locals told us it had never been so cold before at the beginning of October. My youngest were wearing ski wear we bought them but the rest of us were freezing!

I stayed in the Radisson in July for 3 nights. It was a quite nice hotel. I have no complaints at all. I would stay there again if it was free, but if I was booking a trip myself I would book a hotel on-site so that I can walk to the parks.

But I have no complaints about the Radisson at all. :goodvibes
