Help me find a standing MRI, please!

I'm wondering if anyone knows of a standing (or sometimes they call it a stand up) MRI in my area? My mom has been having some health issues for months now and they just can't seem to get to the bottom of it. Now they suspect she may have cracked a bone in her hip, so they want an additional MRI with her putting weight on that leg. We live in the Oklahoma City area.

I've found a place in the Dallas area, but would prefer Oklahoma City or Tulsa if there is one available, as my DH is away on business and DD is in high school and doesn't drive yet. I have a feeling Dallas is too far for my mom to drive right now, since she's in so much pain. I'm not sure I could get her to Dallas, have the test and get back before it's time to pick up DD.

Any ideas on how I could find out if there's one in our area? The nurse didn't know. I figured the DIS was the place to ask. Seems like someone always knows the answer to everything.

WOAH-this is too weird. As i saw this thread, a commercial for an upright MRI was on tv..i dont know if this is the same thing that you are looking for, but it said to go to this website...www.fonar.com to find one near you...

That is sort of spooky that at the same time I asked there was a commercial.

Looks like the closest one listed is still in the Dallas area. Thanks for the help. Anyone else know of another? A friend told me to contact Mercy Hospital and ask them, so that's next on the agenda.

What a coincidence....DD12 had an MRI today. If I had known about your post beforehand, I could have asked about it at the appointment. Sorry I am no help.

I saw one of those commercials in our area about a week ago. I wish I could remember who it was for. There is a big imaging center at the Renaissance Center in Edmond - it might have been them. I would just look in the phone book & start down the list. I have had the open MRI done - it wasn't too bad.

I got a good list from the site HERSEY shared. Tomorrow I guess I'll call all the places on my list and see what I end up with. If I don't get anywhere with that, I'll go to the phone book. I'll definitely call the Renaissance Center. I'll be forever thankful if I can find a place here in Oklahoma where we can have this done. I don't want my mom to wait two weeks until DH can be around, but my schedule when he's gone is so difficult. Thanks again.
