Before you all call the men in white coats, hear me out. ;)

Every summer, while driving or taking a walk, I'll suddenly get a whiff of something that smells just like cherry Kool-Aid mix. I figure it must be in a tree or some type of plant.

I got a great whiff of one today and that's it! I simply must have whatever it is. :goodvibes

Anyone have a Kool-Aid tree and care to share what it really is? :)

Around here the honeysuckle are blooming. You can smell them everywhere. do you think that's it?

I really don't know, but I'll be smelling the honeysuckle at the nursery tomorrow to see if that's it. I just gotta find out what this Kool-Aid tree is - and I gotta plant one right in front of my window. :flower:

I don't know what Kool-Aid smells like, is it a sweet smell? Could be honeysuckle it has a sweet smell. Another shrub that blooming here is my laurel's, they also have a very sweet smell.

Funny you mention it. I was back by the fence and smelled what I think was the honeysuckle. Soooooo good. I just stood there with my eyes closed sniffing away, mmmm. Wasn't about to hop the fence & risk poison ivy to get a better whiff.
I can't remember what kool aid smelled like but this was fruity & sweet. I thought it was the wild roses at first since they just finished blooming. :confused3 Real puzzler because the honeysuckle hasn't bloomed here yet?. Could it a kool aid tree?:cool1:

OK, the honeysuckle has just started blooming in my yard. Sweet, fruity could be Kool-Aidish. Maybe someone in the neighborhood has some heliotrope in windowboxes or planters. That's the first thing that comes to my mind for sweet fruity smells. Not a tree though. Only grows a foot or so tall.

Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the nursery yet, but I plan on stopping there on my way back from my Dad's house today. I will definitely smell the honeysuckle and see if that's it.

If it is - I will be so happy. I want a Kool-Aid tree! :teeth:

Went to the nursery today to smell honeysuckle, and I don't think they're Kool-Aid trees. :sad2:

They smell nice, but not like Kool-Aid trees. I will have to keep searching. Just like I'm losing the faith on the existence of the hummingbird - even though I've done all the right things to attract one. ;)

Robina ( black locust ) is in bloom now in the midwest and could very well be the tree you are refering to.
