So my new mattress is coming tomorrow and I need a new comforter set ( the old mattress was broken and ripped all my sheets and comforter) I know what colors I want but I cannot find anything I like!

My walls are a med olive green color. I would love a comforter with a dark purple or plum and an olive green. I saw one I liked but it was mainly white and with 2 kids, it would be destroyed within a week!:cool1:

If you like the lighter color you may want to consider a down comforter with a duvet cover so you can pull it off and wash it without having to wash the whole comforter. Ours is a beige/tan color, but I love that I can pull off the cover and wash it without washing the down comforter as it is too big for my washer.

Here's one from Penney's...

It may be too light for you, but it has purple & a sage-y green in it.

Or this one (also at Penney's)...

I'm not sure what your style is, though...

If you like paisley, there's a purple & green paisley comforter at Belk.

Or, I love this one from Belk...

It's floral green & purple w/ a striped bedskirt - very "cottage-y" which you may or may not like.

Croscill Cassis/Chambord has all the colors you're looking for. This pattern has been around for eons.

I added a couple of links to my original post. One is probably too floral though.

Here's another 1 from Belk...

It says "red" but it looks a little "plum-y" to me; it's also dark & very formal.

Our current bedding set is from Dillards, but there's one right now at Belk which I LOVE... however, since we just got new bedding last summer, I think I'll have to wait. LOL!

Have you tried Overstock?

Try bedbathandbeyond.com

Also try domestications.com.

I have had good luck at both of those.

I just took a quick look at bedbathandbeyond.com and they have a ton of comforters.

I like the selection at Macy's. Here's the purple/plum color you're looking for:

I'm a big fan of using a down duvet and then using a cover over it. You only have to wash the cover so you can do it every week if you want. A usual comforter you have to take to the laundromat because they're so big. It's also much cheaper to replace the cover. I'm a big fan of all white. It looks so crisp and clean.

It sounds like your kids are in your room a lot, so your really need to go with something that can easily be removed like a duet cover or a dark solid color.

Keep it simple.

I would probably pick a dark purple comforter with matching dark purple shames and dust ruffle.

Then head straight to Home Goods and find some gorgeous pillows with purple, olive green and white in them and use them as an accent on the bed. It would be striking and it would be just enough design for you to enjoy and just enough design for him, it is his room too. :rotfl2: well we let them think that. ;)

A small area rug at the foot or side of the bed with all the colors could add so much to the room.

Adding a olive green vase with some flowers in white or purple or both on a table can bring the room together.

I find getting a pattern comforter, couch, etc. that after a while I get bored of the pattern or they are out of style before you know it. A solid color can easily be up dated with accessories either in other colors, or neutrals as our tastes changes or they can easily be moved to another bedroom when we redecorate again. Multiple uses is key.

Enjoy decorating.
