Help me fill my veggie tray :)

In my veggie tray I have:

celery
baby carrots
cucumbers
the biggest black olives I can find
grape tomatoes
sometimes broccoli
sugar snap peas
and Knorr's Vegetable soup mixed with 16oz of sour cream

Make my dill dip. It goes great with fresh veggies. :thumbsup2

1 1/3c Kraft Mayo
1 1/3c sour cream
2 TBSP minced up fresh parsley
2 TBSP minced onion
2 nice TSP of Dill Weed
2 even tsp of Beau Monde (Spice Islands makes it for sure)

Mix and done.

Can also be used with pretzels and rye bread.

I make this too!!! I'm famous for my dill dip. It'sgood with chips, too.

My veggie trays usually have, baby carrots, celery, broccoli or cauliflower, red pepper strips and either grape or cherry tomatoes. Usually with a ranch dip. I hate olives so none of those on there for me. :)

Is it just family or friends and family?? If it's a lot of people, I'd do 5 veggies, and provide a larger bottle for a couple different dips with little cups. For me I don't mind double dipping or sharing... but people like my aunt get all germaphobic and freak out about multiple people dipping into something. That way you can offer something plain like Ranch as well as something fancy like blue cheese dressing.
You can usually get those ketchup/mustard squeeze bottles at the dollar store. And then you can save any left over.

red and/or green pepper strips, blanched asparagus, sugar snap pea pods, baby carrots, zucchini

I do baby carrots, cucumber, red and green pepper strips, broccoli florets, grape tomatoes, and sugar snap peas - my all time fave! And def a nice onion, vegetable, or garlic dip. I'm having a party next Saturday and will have all of the above. Good luck!

I do baby carrots, celery, grape tomatoes, red pepper and the dip in the center. Sometimes I do orange pepper also and put the dip in a bowl on the side instead. I would put the olives out separately.

What is Beau Monde?

I make a similar dip but it's spinach, and made with low fat ricotta and low fat sour cream, so much less calories, but still tastes good. It's a Weight Watcher's recipe.

It's a wonderful season by Spice Island, it's very salty tasting though. I use it on all my meats. As what my grandmother used to do.

Kari used to make funny of me for using it. In french it translates to beautiful earth or something like that.

It's just a bunch of friends who potentially would feel the same way about double-dipping... that's a really good idea, thanks! Maybe I should start out my party with the Double Dipping episode of Myth Busters :thumbsup2

I love Beau Monde seasoning. And I really love dill dip!

Thanks everyone! I'm not a huge raw veggie eater, so this helps a lot.

I agree that olives are AWESOME, but since they are perfect on their own (without dip) I would put them in a separate (large ) bowl and leave one of the spots for veggies instead.

I usually do cucumber, baby carrots, celery, red pepper, broccoli and cauliflower, and use ranch dressing for dip.

I'd fill it w/veggies and put the dip in a separate small bowl. Also, I'd get a two section bowl for the olives and get a second kind or add peanuts on the 2nd side. You asked, right?

That's all you have to do? Mix the two together?

Yes - you have to do it several hours in advance though.

As for double dipping, we provide spoons for all the dips so people can put dip on their plates... :)
Yes, thanks for mentioning that you need to mix it several hours in advance. Overnight is good. The vegetable mix has peas and if they don't sit in the sour cream for a long while they're like little bullets. So easy and everyone I know loves it.

I like a colorful veggie tray so I use
English cucumbers
green, red, orange and yellow peppers
sugar snap peas
baby carrots
most of the time I do with a ranch dip, but have thrown taco seasoning in sour cream in a pinch (you need to let any dip mix sit for a couple hours or more so that the flavor intensifies).

I do a seperate olive tray with black olives and all those mediterranean ones at the market.

OP thanks so much for this post!! I was wondering what to bring to our potluck at church tomorrow and now I will bring a veggie platter :)
baby carrots, broccoli, celery and peppers with onion soup mix dip.

We usually have cauliflower, tomotoes, celery, green peppers & baby carrots with dipin the center. I would just do some olives as a garnish and not a whole space for them.

:thumbsup2

I would do cucs, green pepper strips, cauliflower, and either carrots or celery. with ranch dip. Then a garnish tray with mini pickles, and both olives
