Help me figure out this function table

OK,

Assuming this is middle or high school level math and not Everyday math....

Take the 2 sets of complete x and y data. Find the difference between the 2 x values and the difference between the 2 y values.


Find slope or "m" = difference in y values/difference in x values = 11-10/21-25


Find b from one set of data using y = mx + b or b = y/mx eg 11 = m(21) + b

To find the missing two pieces of data, use the equation y=mx +b. Substitute the one known piece of data, for example, the y value to find the corresponding missing piece of data, for example the x value.

OMG. I didnt think I could be more confused, but thank you I am.

This is 4th grade. I don't know what in the world b or m or mx is. Pretend like you are talking to a 10 year old please.

OK Sorry, didn't mean to confuse.

Are they graphing?

If not, it looks like there's something missing or a misprint. For 4th graders, this can't be solved as written (unless they're a 4th grader taking higher level math).

Normally, these problems involve something like +10 from the first number to the second. The two complete sets of data don't have a clear link like that.

Ok that makes more sense. Normally I can figure these out just how you said and the other ones he had tonight worked out perfectly but this one just wasnt working. Ok thanks I thought maybe I was just plain stupid (which is still a good possibility). Thanks again.
