We recently purchased 7 day hoppers from UT Child $410.95 and Adult $431.95 for our April 2018 trip. We are considering upgrading to the gold pass which looks to be $559 per pass. Am i correct in thinking that i would only get the actual amount paid for the pass because it was not purchased direct.

So our cost to upgrade would be - Child $148.05, Adult $127.05?

Update - I checked my tickets from UT and appear they don't have any expiration dates on them. I think they had the flash sale on those left over non-expiring tickets. But it sounds like They should bridge them to what ever the current 7 day hopper ticket price is-- is that correct?

You will get "bridged" to the current gate price assuming the UCT tickets you bought have the 12/31/18 expiration date.

It's directly bought tickets that don't qualify for bridging and you get credit for exactly what you paid Disney.

The UCT tickets have a 12/31/2018 expiration date?!?

Newly purchased ones will. If you have some that you bought awhile ago then they would have no "use by date" like Disney has now gone to. But if you want to upgrade those with no expiration date the bridging price value is what it was when Disney switched to the tickets with the expiration date. But with those new tickets you'll get the gate value of them applied to a new ticket if you end up not being able to use them by 12/31/18. And that date should change each year.
