Hey there, I'm planning a trip to WDW for late October and wondering if the DDP would be worth it for myself and my boyfriend...

I'm not such a heavy eater - I usually end up "doggy-bagging" my food at the end of the meal when we go out to eat. DBF usually finishes everything on his plate. Most of the time, we don't order an appetizer or a dessert. I'm worried that the DDP would be too much food for us and would actually end up costing us money...Please help!:confused3

We usually spend...

$8 -- Breakfast
$15 -- Lunch
$25 -- Dinner
$5 -- Snacks & Drinks

Per person per day, so the dining plan is going to save us about $13 per day on food. It really depends with the travellers I guess... if you want to skip dessert, I would probably pass up the DDP. :)

its alot of food, in my opinion , from what u wrote I would have your honey order what he wants and just get myself something small off the menu and steal some of his fries or whatever, then u can snack around as u like, share popcorn, share figaro fries, share mickey bar, shae crispie treat, etc

I works for us because we have two young children that MUST sit down and eat 3 meals a day. Therefore it forces all of us to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If it was not for the kids it wouldn't be worth it. I am not a breakfast person. I would rather "play" at the parks all day then sit down and eat lunch. I could just do a snack in the middle of the day and dinner at night, which wouldn't be worth purchasing a dining plan.
So do you plan on eating 2-3 meals a day plus snacks?
On the other hand, if you plan on eating at places like California Grill and doing character meals....it is worth it in my book.

Partly you have to decide if you simply plan to eat or dine at WDW. If you're going to want some of the Disney dining experiences then the plan is probably the best value. By dine I mean any character meals, places like Coral Reef, Boma or some of the Signature restaurants to get unique foods or experiences.

If you just want some food when you get hungry you won't need ADRs as the choice of counter service restaurants will meet your needs. Though if you're staying in the Boardwalk area those choices are limited unless you're in Epcot.

We really loved the plan and at the under 20 day mark I was REALLY glad I had prepaid for my meals! We selected TS places that were an extension of our Disney experience, not just for food, but characters, atmosphere, etc.
