Can't decide where to stay this time. Last time we stayed at Poly and loved it! I am afraid we are spoiled. We have stayed in the past at AKL,POR,ASMO and have liked them all. Our family consists of myself, DH, DS8, DS5. Loved the bunk beds at AKL, and the monorail at Poly. Looking for something different--WL seems to be same as AKL just different theming. What's special about Contemporary? What's nice about the Epcot resorts? Husband prefers Deluxe hotels for the transportation and queen beds. I would be fine anywhere as long as I have access to the parks. Any ideas? I also thought about the fact that I could get 2 rooms for the price of 1 deluxe, but I am leery of kids having door to the outside world. Midnight strolls and all:hyper: Have any of you ever done this? Pros and cons please. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi!

We have never booked 2 rooms for the same reason you mention - didn't like the idea of the kids being separated from us in a foreign land, so to speak!! Overprotective, I know, I just can't help it. Besides, I always figured I may as well get the first-class treatment if I paid the same price.

We stayed at the Beach Club in December, and IMHO you can't beat the location. You are steps away from Epcot, the Boardwalk and MGM is a short boat ride away. The bus ride to MK also wasn't bad at all. All around a fantastic resort - kids absolutely love the pool, they have to check your resort key it's so popular!! The resort is lovely, a lot like the GF but more laid-back. We are going back to AKL in April, because we love it so there, but we will definitely be going back to BC.:sunny:

Have a great trip!!!

My personal favorites at the GF, Poly, YC, and WL. You can't go wrong with any of those. :)

Wow, everyone seems to like the Poly due to the monorail access. I know that makes a big difference to parents who are carrying small kids at the end of a long night at MK. I would like to hear from some parents if the pool at Beach Club makes up for the monorail access you'd get at Poly. Thanks for all the insight. I'm lovin' it!

If your at the Beach/ Yacht Club you dont need the monorail. You can walk to Epcot in 2 minutes you can walk to MGM in 8 minutes or get on the boat if its too hot and take the 10 min boat ride to MGM. That leaves only 2 parks left which are AK and MK and as for MK you can pick you can either take a bus from the front of the hotel. The bus will stop at the Beach Club, the Boardwalk, and then you're just moments away from the Magic! Or you could take a journey and walk into epcot and take the monorail from Epcot's front entrance, transfer at the TTC, and then continue to the MK. Traveling this way does take some time and some walking, but you get to see a little bit more, and it lends to resort hopping if the mood strikes. As for AK can be reached by taking a bus from the front of the hotel. The bus will stop at the Beach Club, the Boardwalk, and then you're just moments away from AK! Depending on traffic, buses can take 10-20 minutes to reach the Animal Kingdom.

Also at night the Board Walk is lit up and there are a bunch of games for the kids to play as well as magic shows on the Boardwalk and many other extra.
It is by far our Favorite Resort.

Also the pool is a childs heaven with sand bottom and sand castle club and tons of entertainment.

Good Luck with your choice.

We too are trying to decide where to stay when we (DW, DS8, DS6) go in May. We stayed at the Poly LV concierge in 02 and really loved it. We were so spoiled. While we could probably afford the Poly again (hey it is only money), this year we are trying to save and are looking at less expensive resorts. I am very concerned that there will not be a good code out for the time we are going (4/30 to 5/7) since the current codes go to 4/17. That means the best we could get would be a AAA rate which only saves you 10% during the Regular Season. I agree with your husband about perferring the deluxes and with you on why two rooms are not a good idea. I also do not like the idea of people walking in front of your window to access their rooms as seems to be the layout of all of the Values and Moderates. It just does not give you much privacy. I am thinking about WL for its low price or even the CR (AKL is too far out and we really did not like AK that much when we went in 02). Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Jay

I love Poly! We've done it twice and I would try and go there each and every time if I could. We did concierge and it's hard when you get spoiled easily. Loved the easy access to MK (where we spend most of our time) via the monorail. Could not beat having a less than 5 min. trip to the park!

Last May, we decided to split our stay (Poly was just a little too expensive for the entire trip) with AKL. We regretted it the entire time we were at AKL. We stayed there before and loved it there. My largest problem the long bus rides to get everywhere. For me, that time could be better spent at a park or at the pool.

We've done WL twice and loved it as well. Close to MK via the boat. Food court area is somewhat small but enjoyed the resort and would stay there again.

We were just there in late October and it was a quick 4-day weekend trip (surprise for my daughter's 16th Birthday). We couldn't get any codes (booked on the last minute) and chose to stay at a moderate to save some dollars. We did CS and it's a nice resort but we really did not like the food court (Pepper Market) and we found we spent most time standing on the buses they were almost always full. We also spent a lot of time waiting for buses and it soured our views on this resort. It's a shame--it is a very beautiful resort and loved the pool.

Honestly, I will admit--having done a deluxe, I did find it hard to stay at a moderate. Have fun planning!

We stayed at the CR in '02 and our youngest two boys were 6 and 9 and they loved it! They have requested CR instead of Poly for our upcoming trip but I have had my heart set on the Poly at Christmas forever, lol. The Food n Fun Ctr in the CR is great for quick eats. They also have frozen cokes for the refillable cups there. The game center is huge and I had a heck of a time getting the kids to leave it to go to a park! Then you throw in Chef Mickey's and what's not to love. If your boys love MK, it is a quick 6 minute walk. Monorail to Epcot. I could go on and on. I think you would be happy with the CR.
