Hi, family of 4 with 2 kids (10 and 13) going in September with free dining. We have Saratoga springs studio and animal kingdom lodge standard rooms booked. Which of these reservations should we keep? Also how long does it usually take to get to disney springs from akl using the bus.

The Uzima pool at AKL will be closed for refurbishment in September. I'd choose SSR unless having 2 "real" beds instead of a bed and a sleeper sofa are extremely important to you.

Both are very nice resorts. As they are located at roughly opposite ends of WDW, for me it would come down to which parks you'll be visiting and your taste in theming. AKL is very cool, and I would think 10 and 13 year-olds would appreciate the AKL theme more than SS, but who knows.

As for getting from AKL to DS, I'd plan on about 30 minutes once the bus is rolling.

Not having that pool open is a deal breaker. Thanks for the heads up.

I have stayed in both of these places. i would choose AK over SSR. Even if the pool is closed at one section of AK, the pool on the other side will be open and you will be free to use it. AK is a little further out but it is such a unique location with the animals, authentic African art and beautiful and unique decor, that is is worth it to me. SSR is not that much closer to the parks. The AK resort is hard to beat....it is not just like all the other hotels....
