Can anyone help me decide on a few table service meals for our end of summer vacation? We're fairly new to Disney dining and I know most of you know your stuff so much that you can help me nail down a plan when our 180+10 comes up in a few days. There is me, my boyfriend and our two kiddos ages 8 and 5. We actually just got back from our first ever trip a couple of weeks ago and fell in love so much that we're heading back in a few months!
Some of the places are ones we went to and loved so much we want to do them again, others are new. I've put comments to help give an idea about our tastes and such. Our kids are fairly picky eaters but both actually vastly prefer the adult offerings over kiddie fare. My son can rarely find anything he'll eat off of the kids menu. So we tend to head for buffets where there is a better chance of him liking what he's offered. Help me out and give me any advice or comments you've got. Thanks so much
Dinner at Crystal Palace (We did lunch this time. Kids and bf loved it, I thought it was fine. Is dinner any different or pretty much a repeat of lunch?)
Dinner at Tokyo Dining (This is one of our new ones. This is for me and the bf. We're sushi and Japanese food fanatics. We're betting the kids hardly touch their food, but we figure one meal can be just for us since we will spent this past vacation dining with every masked character or Princess there was. We're owed an "us" meal. Haha. Anything you can recommend that the kids might be more willing to try?)
Breakfast at Boma (Another new one. It sounds good. Is it?)
Dinner at Whispering Canyon (Another new one and the one I'm most wavering on. Tell me about it- good or bad.)
Breakfast at Akershus (We did this on this past trip and enjoyed it enough. My daughter was in heaven at it so this is for her.)
Dinner at Biergarten (Did this and it was a favorite of us all so we're happy to be able to go again.)
Dinner at Hollywood and Vine (Really just looking for a good place which we can get the whole Fantasmic ticket thing for. Is another one a better choice?)
Dinner at Ohana (New to us. It sounded yummy. What's it like?)
Dinner at Tusker House (Our other all around favorite that we're heading back for.)
Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (I'm an Alice nut and the food was great this time around so we're ending our last full day here.)
Are there better places that I'm missing? Should I switch some out? As long as no one recommends Sci-Fi Cafe, I'll take your advice. Haha. We did that one this time and it was our one and only hated meal. Other than the tasty milkshake we were all poking at our food that ranged from bland to vile. The waiter was wonderful though. Too bad he doesn't work at a decent place! The other places we did but are not going back to in favor of new meals are Liberty Inn Tavern, Garden Grill, Tony's Town Square and dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I really enjoyed the last two a lot but we want to try new places. The first two were pretty good. I think they would have been better had they not been right in a row. Both places serve almost identical food!! So one would have been very nice but two nights in a row of the same basic food was sort of like having leftovers in Disney World- not really worth it. So tell me, my wiser Disney Diners, what can I do to make our plans even better? I'd looked at some such as Chef Mickey's and Cape May dinner. I don't want to miss better places this time and make another Sci-Fi error again.
We won't be able to be back for another few years after this upcoming trip so I want to make sure we get the best ones in. Thanks in advance!!
