7 day Western cruise on May 15th? I was thinking instead of rushing back to California that maybe we could get a room at the Wildnerness lodge and spend the day at Magic Kingdom and leave the next day on a really early flight. How much time do you think it would take to get to the park from the ship? Would the parks be too crowded on a Saturday? Would we be too tired to enjoy the day? We have a 3 year old and 6 1/2 year old. I just hate flying all the way there and not get a oppurunity to see the parks.

Thanks,
Tina

We are going directly to Magic Kingdom from the cruise, staying the night and then doing another day at one of the parks since we booked a flight that doesn't leave until 7pm so we could squeeze 2 days in at the park. I could not imagine going to Florida and being so close to Disney but not going to the parks at least once!

Hello,
I would opt for the day at the Magic Kingdom. The Port is less than an hour away. You can disembark by 8:30 and be in the Magic Kingdom, tickets in hand by 10:00. Mid May is still considered a slower time at the Parks, so the crowds shouldn't be that prohibitive. Going to MK also makes getting off the ship a bit less painful.

Enjoy,
Dawn

We're doing the same thing; getting off the Magic then going directly to the Polynesian. Can't wait! :) We don't like the idea of coming off a relaxing cruise vacation then having to go right to the airport, so WDW will be a nice in-between.

On the last morning of our cruise we were all tired. We were on the go enjoying every minute of the cruise. My DD 6 actually fell asleep in my lap at breakfast. There is no way we could have gone to MK for the day and really enjoyed it.

We flew in a day sooner and went to MK the day before the cruise. We had lots of energy and it was the perfect beginning to a Disney vacation.

We got off the ship @ 8:30am and were at the gates by 10am. Our kids were DS5 and DD3 and they have a wonderful day!
The best part was that they fell asleep in the car on the way over to MK so were well rested for their big day....it was a nice way to say goodbye to the characters before we drove home. I would highly recommend it. Just be sure to rent a double stroller so they can relax when they need to. The other thing to keep in mind is that you don't have to see everything in that day - enjoy as much as you can but keep a slower pace.
Have Fun!

That was what we did: Going to Magic Kingdom after getting off the Ship and left for home the next morning.

We disembarked at around 8:45 and arrived at the MK at around 10:45 am. We spent the whole day there. It was of course tiring for all of us but the kids loved the rides far more than what they did at the Oceaneer Club.

We went back to our hotel, MCO Hyatt which we booked thru priceline, at around 11:00 pm and left for home the next morning at around 10:00 am.

We're going to the parks after the May 15 Eastern, also. We will check in at the AKL, shoot over to MK, then spend the next two days at EPCOT and MGM!! Can't wait!!:earsgirl:
