It'll be me, my husband and our party animal daughter who will be 6 at the time of visit (we're going in November) She will be very happy and able to stay up late. We're doing three days of MK. This is our itinerary:

Sunday: fly in, hang at resort (poly)
Monday: MK day from rope drop until close (hope to see kiss goodnight)
Tuesday: MK day from breakfast until close at 6 pm. We have CRT for lunch. (*do we do MVMCP this night?)
Wednesday: rest day at resort (breakfast and dinner at ohana)
Thursday: Last MK day. (*do we do MVMCP this night?)
Friday: Fly home early afternoon, after breakfast at Chef Mickeys

Christmas party on Tuesday or Thursday?

My thoughts:
1. We really want to see one rope drop and one kiss goodnight. Our only chance to see kiss goodnight is Monday because park closes early on Tue and Thu for the party.

2. We could take an afternoon break on Tuesday and go back to poly to rest and then back at night for MVMCP. DD will not nap, unfortunately.

3. Or do the same (afternoon break, back at night for party) on Thursday. If we don't do the party on Thursday, we'll have to leave the park at 6pm on our last night in WDW. Will that be a bummer?

Which of these sounds like the most enjoyable?

I have to be honest, I would not waste a day hanging at the resort for a 5 night trip. A four day ticket is not that much more and it would be well worth the money to spend a day in AK.

I would do the party on Thursday.

So you think a newly turned 6 yo could last 7am - 9pm, 8am - 6pm, 8-6 and then 8-midnight? I keep hearing its nice to have a resort/rest day with littles especially since the pools at poly are supposed to be cool.

You know your daughter best, but yes, when mine were that age and younger, they could. We did take a day off on our trips back then but we were there for 11 days minimum, and most of our trips have been 12 to 14 days. The pools are indeed fun, my two loved Stormalong Bay, but not more than the parks.

with the Poly so close to MK, I'd use it for afternoon breaks rather than an whole rest day. I don't think your 8a-midnight day will work without it.

id get a hopper and the new express bus and hop as much as you can. I wouldn't do just MK at all.
