We will be in the world for 12 days (12/23 - 1-3). We're doing the DLX plan for the first 5 nights and switch to standard when we switch resorts. We are open to any and all suggestions!

I'm a big fan of Teppan Edo also. This is a great place with really fresh food and terrific service.

Many people love Boma at AKL. We will be trying it at the breakfast buffet for our first time this year, but have heard the dinner buffet is equally as good. (Plus, get to check out AKL)

Wow! Great picture - you listed a lot of our favorites and a few new places to try! Thank you! :)

We absolutely love Teppan Edo (I'm guessing we'll eat there at least twice!) :cool1:

We ate breakfast at Boma last year and were not as "wowed" by it as others were... but it may be worth another shot!

Thank you so much! We've eaten everywhere you mentioned with the exception of Chefs de France. I think we'll need to try that!

Thanks so much Mary! Here are the details.. it's actualyl just the two of us going. We were supposed to have a larger family group, but everyone bailed. LOL I'm 28 and my partner in crime is 36.

We actually arrive on 12/20 and will be at OKW for 3 nights. We're not doing any parks, etc. during that time and will not have a dining plan as we would like to explore the Orlando area a little more and ger off property.

From 12/23 - 12/28 we will be at VWL in a 1 BR villa along with the OMG that's a lot of food Deluxe Dining Plan! From 12/28 - 1/3 we'll be at SSR on the standard dining plan.

We've not been to any of the dinner shows and for the most part we've only done in park dining. Other than a few excursions to other resorts.

That's a good plan - I don't know a lot about the signature places and suggestions?

Well, we actually extended our trip by a couple of days as it saved over $500 on airfare so we'll be there on 12/20 but not on a dining plan or really doing any parks, etc. until 12/23. Thanks for the great suggestions!

It is hard to remember them all isn't it? I just keep coming up with the same places we eat at on every trip - so it's nice to get some new ideas from all of you!

It's a must do on this trip now!

So.. I know next to nothing about any of the dinner shows. Can you all make some recommendations and give me an idea of what to expect?

Thanks!!

I love the following:
LeCellier
Ohana
Kona Cafe
San Angel Inn
Nine Dragons
Tony's Town Square
Liberty Tree Tavern
50s Prime Time (although I haven't been in about 4 years)

If there are any restaurants I would not miss they would be Chefs de France and Le Cellier. They offer a great selection of both traditional favorites and dishes you might never get to try.

its true it is! we tried to go a little outside the box this time, in october we had mainly all character meals for the kidlets. while fun,i wanted to try some other places. and we did....and most of the next trip will probably be the same! i have dietary restrictions, a son whos fussy and a daughter and hubby who dont care as long as they eat! lol

I am interested in trying them all as well. I started May 11th with HDDR. (Although I feel sure parents took us there when I was little...Everything seemed SO familiar ! It's the longest running dinner show in the US?world? so maybe they did take us !)

Next I'll try Luau then Mickey's Backyard BBQ (maybe years from now )

ANYWAY... DS18 and I LOVED HDDR... Of course DS enjoyed the off beat humor... (which I'm sure he thought I didn't 'get' LOL). He RAVED about the RIbs...meat fell off the bone... I LOVED the fried chicken - it just looked like plain ole fried chicken...but I took a bite and fell in LOVE...very juicy and GOOD !

I think a Great show for 1) children for the loud boisterous atmosphere. 2) anyone who enjoys singing and dancing/acting 3) Older folks who like the old west theme 4) Anyone with a Birthday/Anniversary to celebrate and wants a loud large celebration.

This is from their site:

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is an old-fashioned dinner show that includes foot-stompin' music, nostalgic comedy and an all-you-care-to-eat dinner at Pioneer Hall in Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Get ready for good, ol' country fun!

A long-time family favorite, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is hosted in a rustic dance hall, with rousing Wild West dancing, singing, and zany vaudeville comedy. You never know what to expect from the high-spirited Claire de Lune, Johnny Ringo, Dolly Drew, Six Bits Slocum, Flora Long and Jim Handy.

As the Pioneer Hall Players perform skits and early song standards, equally sassy Cast Members serve your countrified feast. Between laughs, chow down on pails of all-you-care-to-eat American favorites like fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, seasonal vegetable, baked beans, fresh baked corn bread and strawberry shortcake. Unlimited draft beer, wine, sangria and soft drinks are included for Guests 21 years of age or older (proper ID required).

Jiko has awesome food. (signature restaurant) I read somewhere that, if you go outside to look at the savanna after dinner, you can ask a CM to borrow their night-vision goggles and see the animals. Didn't try it, so not sure if that's true.

If you eat dinner at the poly, you could time it to watch the fireworks from the beach after dinner. Similar idea w/ CG at the Contemporary.

HDDR was fun! After HDDR, you can take the bus to the Chip-N-Dale campfire sing-a-long. Roast marshmallows and see the movie. (Fun to try once)

Check times to see if/when the little animatronic Remy appears at Chef de France.

Of course Whispering Canyon for breakfast since you’re at WL.
