I know this is a silly question to ask on this board, but I also know you all will give me the answer I secretly want!!!!! I am thinking about secretly planning a trip to wdw again for next year.We got back from wdw June 7th and we had a not so good time, but I'm hoping for a better time our next trip.Dh has not refused to go again so I think I'm safe to plan this and keep it a secret. We did the timeshare thing at Sheraton Vistana Villages and got $50.00 for our trouble, but we can never say no, and ended up saying maybe, with a guarenteed stay at the resort for 7 days, 2 bedroom suite with complete kitchen and washing facilities in room.Total cost $1300. and up to 18 months to take vacation. We have $100.00 coming out of our credit card a month to pay for it. This does not include anything but the room. I can plan this trip using the suite room and my dh will not know until the very last possible moment. Is this going to work? Should I try to book this far in advance? I went thru a TA last time and I was wondering could I do well price wise on my own and where do I go for Budget prices. My income is not great and I need to go as inexpensive as I can. Please HELP ME!!!!! Threre will be 5 adults and 1 child. We will have to fly(live in Missouri)and will have to have a car. We will have 5 days to do the parks, so will need 5 or 6 day passes depending on the flight times. I want to try for 6 days at the parks. Not to interested in water parks. We will have a kitchen for breakfast and late dinners, but for lunch? and I want at least one character breakfast for dd and youngest ds.I also want to get a fishing pkg for dh and older ds's any ideas?

Maybe try asking on the budget board?

How about getting the tickets from Paramountinternationaltravel.com and then putting aside so much money per week or bi-weekly(however you get paid) to put towards airfare and then keep checking mousesavers.com for any discounts, etc that might come out. ANd keep checking these boards for info on specials and things.

are you going to get talked into something else when you go back to Vistana? I would be worried that would walk out next time with a timeshare you don't necessarily want or need? Just something to be aware of.

Personally, we never use a travel agent, I shop around for cheap flights and we base our dates on the cheapest flights we can find, assuming we can get time of work of course. Everything else can be fit to your budget, ie choose a cheaper or pricier hotel depending on what you can afford, but those flight prices are a big chunk of the budget and much harder to control.

I think that you need to stop and ask yourself these questions.

1. Can we really afford to do this again so soon? How much can we really afford and can I plan a trip for this amount?

2. Will DH be happy about a surprise trip or will be be upset that I spent the money without him knowing about this?

3.Why did you have a less than great time last trip? What can you do differently this time to make it better?

4.Are we going to be able to say no to the resort timeshare? Can we afford not to say no?

I think having the room that you are going to have to pay for anyway makes it a great times to take a vacation. I just would think through all these things to try and make the it the best vacation that you can.

Good luck and happy planning.
