Well I cannot decide on the first 6 nights of our stay.Here are the options;
1) OKW free DDP 0ne bedroom £ 1200(near abouts)
2)Bonnet Creek 2 bedroom deluxe £450 (no DDP)
As a bit of an onsite buff I am a bit wary of stying off site but this is very close to epcot and infact in the world and it looks lovely. Trying to decide if it will be a bit cheaper to stay off site but still have a main dinner and lunch at the parks.There are 3 adults and a child but she be having adult meals except at the buffets.
Doing DVC after the cruise so will still have an onsite fix.:thumbsup2
Need to try and keep the costs down a bit.Those first 6 nights we are also doing discovery cove .
Any advice gratefully recieved.:lovestruc

Personally I would stay onsite, but that is a big difference in price, only thing I would change if staying on site is I would stay at OKW, dont like the resort but I do know others love it. Best of luck deciding.

If you are definitely eating at TS in the parks and hotels for 4 adults I would think the cost will come out pretty similar.

Have you priced up any of the menus for a rough guide so you can compare?

IMO the only way you will financially benefit by staying OFF site is by eating OFF site.

If you are planning to eat in the parks then from experience you may well find it a cheaper option to stay at OKW and get the free dining.

We are a family of 6, but during our last visit been 2009 there was only 2 adults DH and I plus our three eldest children whom qualified for the DDP and in just 1 week we calculated through our saved receipts over $2000 worth of food, drinks and snacks .:scared1:

Now dont get me wrong, we would never eat outside the parks like we do when we are on the DDP, but hey its "free" in one sense so why not :confused3

We have stayed at Bonnet Creek 3 times for between 11 nights and 2 weeks. We absolutely love it there an definitely fantastic value compared to the Disney onsite hotels. However, we have also stayed at SSR twice and have another 3 weeks booked this August. We find that the free dining in August is a great deal and actually cheaper than booking Bonnet Creek for peak time. We always book with the same guy and pay $100 a night for December. However price is more than double for August unless you book less than 6 weeks in advance but of course availability not guaranteed.

We have only stayed on site but would be interested in seeing what off site is like. For us staying on site is not about the cost (obviously !) but we like being at Disney rather than visiting each day, this way we feel like we are a
part of disney all the time, even in the room or at the resort you still get the disney magic.

I wouldn't pay for DDP as it is now too expensive but last year stayed at OKW with free DDP. For us it makes budgeting easier and there are some good food choices but some planning to get the most out of it (which I enjoy doing). With DDP we certainly have experienced restaurants / food types which we would not have otherwise done.

However if the cost is the difference between going or not going then I would do offisite.
