I am going 3/30 - 4/5 with 3 kids. 13, 12 and 9. Ok here it is broken down

ddp with 5 day tickets at POP and then Universal Studios on the 5th.

ddp with 5 day tickets at POR and no US.

I have stayed at POR and loved It but I think it is more important the kids do as many parks as possible so I am thinking POP.

Too many decisions too make.

HELP!!!!

What would you do??

Less space, more play! Say it with me now, "Less space, more play!"

I prefer bigger rooms, too (don't we all?!), but no WAY I'd skip a day in a theme park for it!!!

I would definitely stay at POR. It is a beautiful resort and you will have more room. I would not do POP and US

Are you going alone with the 3 kids, or is there another adult? If there is another adult, then you would not be able to stay in the POP rooms. You would have to get two rooms, which makes POR the cheaper option.

If you were adding on a day to go to US, then I would probably go with that plan, but from above it looks like you would do US on the 5th day instead of WDW, which you already have the tickets for. It seems like a waste of money to me, although that day at WDW really only costs a couple of dollars more so you aren't wasting that much. Also, you are talking about going at Easter which is quite busy. I have been there at Easter the past two years and while we found it to be quite manageable it will take you some time to navigate the parks. What we found worked for us was to take advantage of EMH and FP's and make sure we were at our pool for the afternoon when the parks were super mobbed. You may need that planned US day to do anything that you may not have been able to hit due to crowds.

POR -overall better amenities. That said the resort stay is huge for us and we spend a ton of time there.

Enjoy!

yes I will be alone, only adult here.
We are driving down and the 5th is our departure date so I figured get up early and go to US for the day then start driving home after that. Sorry I should have been more clearer. Easter is a full week before. I have taken polls on here for spring breaks and that does not concern me. I just cannot decide on the resort.

Thank you everyone. Let me just clarify that the 5th I am leaving on and will not lose any WDW days. The 31st thru 4th are my WDW days. I was going to stop at US on the way home as we are driving and this will be the kids only trip for awhile. I stayed at POR and loved it but the price difference is $480 which is the price plus a little more for US. Still not sure but thank you all for your responses. Then I could take off DDP and save more money. Then stay at POR and do US. This is much easier when it is only you or with adults.
