Good Morning! So we originally booked our FD trip at CBR, but decided to change to POP. We are currently booked there for 9 nights and have upgraded to the DDP vs. the QSDP. Now I am second guessing and thinking we should go back to CBR. :confused3 The difference in cost is ~$374 to change back to CBR.

I have been told that CBR is HUGE and that you have to use an internal bus system just to visit the food court. Is that true? The walk cannot be that bad, right? How is the pool at CBR? Is the waterslide decent? How's the bus service to the parks and DTD?

I am so torn right now. Our last trip we stayed at POR and LOVED it. The pics I have seen of CBR look beautiful. And there's no doubt we will enjoy our trip no matter where we stay. I'm just trying to decide if it's worth switching.

TIA for any advice/opinions!!!

We preferred Pop!!! CBR is a gorgeous resort, but yes, it is pretty big. We by no means have an issue with walking (it's Disney afterall), however, after a late night at the park, to have to walk 10 minutes to Old Port Royale for a snack and a mugfill was a bit much...(and yes, it did take 10 minutes from our Barbados building with our two very tired kiddos tagging along). There was alot that we did love about CBR - great CM's, beautiful grounds, awesome housekeeping that left towel animals everyday and the view of the higher IllumiNations fireworks outside of our room door. But, that being said, if we were choosing between the two again, we'd pick Pop. :goodvibes

Stayed at CBR last year and thought it was not worth the price difference. Pop is awesome and would choose it any day:lovestruc (although staying at Music this summer bc we rotate the Values).

We stayed at CBR a few years ago. We requested Jamaica 45 which is right across the bridge to OPR. It was about a 10 minute walk, but it was a lovely walk that we actually enjoyed everytime. My DS1 LOVED the kid's area at the main pool and the resort is really pretty.

Good luck deciding!!! It's always so hard. :goodvibes

I've been looking at the map of CBR trying to see just how "big" the resort actually is. A 10 minute walk isn't bad at all. When we stayed at POR we had a little walk to the main building there too. And if we go with POP my DD wants to stay in the Roger Rabbit building, which is not exceptionally close. So, the walk is probably the same anywhere.

I like the theming of both. And please correct me if I'm wrong, the values now have a "fridge" in them too.

I'm just trying to weigh out the pros and cons of each and determine if it's worth the extra money. I hate being so indecisive!!!

I've stayed at both. Our Christmas trip was at CBR. I did not like our room location (Aruba) b/c it was close to a parking lot and you could hear noise from a busy road if you were outside. I like to be more secluded. We had to drive to go to the food court, that was just annoying and made it feel like we weren't at a resort. We had record cold temps and we were too cold to walk around much. Probably in Aug. you will be too hot to walk around the grounds a lot. The pool and slides were beautiful, but we only lasted 20 min. in them due to the weather just not being warm enough for swimming. I think this would be great in warmer weather. Food court was good and the room was big. I guess overall I felt like we were in an apartment complex b/c of our room location, and that's mainly why I didn't care for the resort. I was really wishing we had just stayed at POP or CSR.

I like POP b/c it is more compact and you don't pay extra for a lakeview. Also likek that there is one bus stop. We are staying there again, but I will miss the pool slide and covered bus stops.

We prefer CBR. It is such a relaxing resort. Enjoy taking the stroll around the lake. Lounging in a hammock. If you find it to be a long walk to get a snack then hop on a bus and ride over to Old Port Royale.

Some differences between the two: cost-the CBR cost more to stay at. You will find the towels and toilet paper to be better at CBR, at the Pop they were both very thin. You don't get pool towels at the Pop you have to take the towels from your room. YUCK after swimming I don't want to shower with a towel I had to take to the pool area:eek:

YES the Pop now have a fridge in the room.

I'm having the same issue. We are at pop right now with the QSDP with the WP&F option on our tickets. We could drop the WP and stay at CBR for around 430.00 more but not sure it is worth it. We would get the regular dining plan But would loose are Wp option. I don't want to upgrade the plan if we stay at pop since we will be at the Wp at least 3 of the 11 days.. But if we stayed at CBR we would be at the pool go to HDDR and hit DTD.

We stayed at cbr in April in the tridiad south buildings. We loved it. We never once stepped on an internal bus and trinidad south isn't exactly close to old port royale. Maybe a 10 minute walk max. The pool is great, has 2 watersides and a separate area for the under 48" group, but I will give pop's food the edge over cbr. Cbr has bigger rooms ( and it is noticeable), a more relaxing atmosphere. But it comes with a higher price tag. But for 9 nights, I would pay the difference.

After looking at these hotels and going back and forth and back and forth, I found another thread on here comparing CBR and CSR. We have wanted to stay at CSR for a while now, so I called today and changed our ressie to CSR. Their pool looks great and we really like the look of the rooms and the hotel itself.

Thank you everyone for your input!!!!

OP, I know you made your choice and I think you made the right one! With now having to upgrade to get the DDP when its free dining time, the savings of staying in a value if you want the full serve plan to me is not worth it. I much prefer the moderates.

I have stayed at all of the mods, and all of them to me are worth quite a bit more, especially more than the $300ish upgrade you had to pay.

Congratulations on your upgrade, I think you will be very happy!

Hi
Pop's beds are so hard, we had to change resorts!! CBR's beds were much more comfortable and the pool was a lot of fun. It has zero entry and 2 waterslides. My DGD had a lot of fun there. I don't think the food court at CBR is as good as Pops. Not as much selection. I love Pop, but I won't stay there again because of the hardness of the beds. CSR is a beautiful resort and their beds are really comfy, and
their pool is a lot of fun with the waterslide. We also enjoyed the bar at the pool. Have a great trip!!

OP, I hope you have a great trip. I love CSR. It's so beautiful there during any season and is more upscale than the other 2 mods.

Thank you! We are excited about staying at CSR. We loved the feel of POR last time we were there. But we also really enjoyed POP when we were there in 2007. But it will be nice to try a new place, especially since we've been looking at it for so long. The total to upgrade was ~$400, but we think it will be worth it.

You will love CSR. Ask to be as close to the main pool as possible. You do not need to pay extra for that location, and you can easily refill your mugs at the pool snack stand. We liked the burgers there, too. The pool is glorious! The rooms are really nice. I have enjoyed my CSR stays every bit as much as Bay Lake Tower and Kidani.

I feel CBR is too spread out. I didn't much care for our stay there. I loved POP. Have stayed there several times.

The OP wrote CBR; not CSR.

We have always called room service and requested extra towels so we never had to use swimming towels to shower with! We found POP to be quite enjoyable.

I'd take a moderate over a value any day, that being said when my kids were young we loved the all star resorts. The moderates have a much more relaxed and laid-back feel to them while the values seem to feel busy all the time. When the kids were little we loved the action packed feel of values but now we enjoy a more relaxed trip.
