We are considering 3 nights with concierge service for a special Christmas treat. Right now, the candidates are the Polynesian, Beach Club, Boardwalk Inn and Contemporary Tower Club (now Atrium Club I think).

Which has the best concierge service and offerings?

At the Poly, how likely are we to get a renovated room?

Are the concierge rooms at the BC and BWI any different than the regular rooms in size or furnishings or availablility of a daybed or balcony?

At the Contemporary, if we don't drink, will we be missing out on much by not having "full" concierge service?

TIA for your help!

Not sure but just wanted to say you should book soon. Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year and will be very crowded. Good luck. :wizard:

At The Polynesian you would certainly get a renovated room as long as the Hawaii building sticks to its schedule (currently September/October I believe).
All concierge rooms are in Hawaii so you would not be placed elsewhere (unless you reserve a suite).

Can't help with which to choose, I have only stayed at The Polynesian out of those choices. For a Christmas trip, the GF is hard to beat IMO. We had a wonderful time at the GF concierge last Christmas.

Personally I don't think you can beat the CR...the Tower Club (now reincarnated as the Atrium Club) has as nice a breakfast as any of the other concierge services....nid day snacks are about the same but no big evening spread like the others....at least that is how it was in the old Tower Club....supposedly the new and improved Atrium Club would have more substantial offerings, although I am waiting to hear back from someone who has stayed there since 10th floor reopened with the new lounge,

I guess if you plan to hang out at the lounge and make dinner out of the 5 to 7 offerings you would be better off at one of your other choices....and the Grand is really beautiful at Xmas.

The other 2 (BC and BWI) get very mixed reviews as to service, food offerings, etc...unless you are dying to stay in the EPCOT area I wouldn't risk it personally.

To the OP, personally, I would choose a resort based on which park(s) you'll be visting most. That's a crazy time of year and I wouldn't want to waste a few short days riding crowded buses.

Poly ~ as another poster mentioned, if they stay on schedule, you should have a renovated room. The lounge is spacious and beautiful. Nice food offerings and an incredible view of Wishes. Convenient to MK and you can walk to the Epcot monorail.

CR ~ limited concierge is being temporarily housed on the 10th floor. A short walk to the entrance of MK. Nice breakfast, afternoon snacks, nearly positive they have no lounge however. The new lounge will be part of the 12th floor renovations. I can double check that though.

BC ~ great location between two parks. Some concierge rooms here are slightly bigger, but the lounge is very small and they do close the doors between food servings and from 10pm-7am. Many rooms on the 5th floor have small balconies and I would highly recommend that you book a room with a view.

BWI ~ 10-15 minute walk to Epcot or MGM. Super nice on-site concierge staff and the pre-planning department for both BC & BWI cannot be beat. Nice lounge, which as views of Illuminations. Downside is that you have to exit the building for restaurants, but you have many choices.

Personally, I would chose Poly if you are going to spend most of your time at the MK and the BWI if your plans take you to MGM and Epcot more often.

Thanks to you all for your information and advice!

After considering it, and reading more on these boards, I think we'll probably stick with CR, although the Poly with renovated rooms is very tempting.

We are almost guaranteed to get a renovated room on the 10th floor at CR, from what I've read. Also, if the weather is not so great, we can get to restaurants, etc. without going outside. The pool at the BC sounds great, but that's probably better as a warmer weather choice. Finally, we'll mostly be avoiding the parks, especially on Christmas Day, so that's not a big factor.
