Help me decide on a girls name....

We are expecting in May '06. We can agree on boys names, but hare having a hard time with girls. Let me know what you think of some of them.

Some have family meaning, and some, well, I just like - especially Lorelei, even though I only know the name cause I love Gilmore Girls!

Edited to add: our surname begins with "B" is 3 syllables and ends with a long "ee" sound.

I have heard of someone with the name Lorilei before.
From your poll, I had choosen Paige.
Some other names that I like are Lindsey, Rachael, McKennzie, Taylor, Savanna, and Cassidy.

Although I also love the Gilmore Girls, I'd tend to shy away from naming a baby after a tv character--that's just me, though. My grandmother was named after an actress who was famous when she was born and she just always hated it.

I'm partial to Amelia--probably because with the plain name of Amy, I always wished I'd been named Amelia instead. Isabella and Margaret are also beautiful, classic names.

Can I ask what you are thinking of for a middle name? We have a hard time matching up middle names with the shorter names.

We had a difficult time deciding on girls names, we ended up with Rachael Amber. My eldest son was named before he was born!! Stefan..... sadly he doesn't like having a name diffeent from everyone elses

Amelia is my first choice for a girl's name for myself, so that's why I picked. Unfortunately DH hates it because he thinks the child will be teased and called Amelia Airhead

I picked Paige because I like the shorter first name with the longer last name. I also like Lindsey, but with your last name ending with an "ee" sounds, I wasn't crazy about both names having the same ending sound.
They are all beautiful names....I'm sure whatever you go with, it will be perfect for your little princess!

I know --- it makes me think of Amelia Bedelia too! Dontcha have to picture how the kids will be mocked....or how it will sound on an old lady! Too much pressure to name a kid!

A friend from work named her daughter Paige Allison.
I like it. My daughter was going to name her baby Isabella but the baby was a boy. I voted for Paige.

I haven't come up with any yet LOL. Actually I liked Noelle, but my husband didn't like Paige Noelle.

We are also considering Paige for a middle name. We are thinking maybe Samantha Paige or Kimberly Paige.

It is so hard to come up with names isn't it? We had no problems naming Nicole, but with this one we just can't decide on anything.

Lorelai -- Please don'y name your daughter after the GG! I too love that show, but I don't think it's a good idea long term.
Anabelle -- It reminds me of the Edgar Allen Poe poem.
Amelia -- She will be called Amelia Bedelia (sp?)
Gwyneth -- Too trendy

Paige is my second choice out of those names.

I also like the names Olivia, Audrey, Grace and Ava.
