Help me decide...BWPPI or Park Vue?

I haven't stayed at BWPPI yet, mainly because we feel we get more of what we need for our family at PVI. Some quick points that influence our preference:

--PVI does a returning guest discount, as well as a military discount. It knocks about $20 off our room, and retired military (and military spouse) fits their requirements. BWPPI requires current military orders last I checked.

--PVI offers a true suite, with a separate sleeping area. BWPPI's "mini-suite" has a mini-wall separating the areas. My tween can't (won't!) sleep if she knows we are still up, so we need that separated sleeping area, so DH and I can stay up and read before bed without bothering DD.

--PVI is recently renovated. New carpet, new window dressings, new couches, new counters, new tiles in the tubs, etc.

--AC units are placed high, which keeps DD from deciding that she's "too cold" at night and turning the heat to 80º (it's happened more than once with her, gggrrr!)

--Another totally silly reason: BWPPI has a crosswalk light over their driveway area. DD thinks she must pay attention to the crosswalk light, and won't go if it doesn't say walk... PVI just has the crosswalk to get across the street ;)

Here's some pictures of my rooms at 2 of our last 3 stays... Apparently when my computer died last month I lost my room pictures from my January trip of the basic 2-queen room.

One bedroom suite, pictures from last week (6/29/15, I think) :

Jacuzzi Suite (note, this was pre-upgrades) :

PVI is, by far, our go-to place now :)

Someone had asked about Carousel Inn and I asked if they'd considered PVI. This was the response:

I didn't check since it doesn't affect me. Sorry for passing along the wrong info.

Sorry if I got it wrong. I was 99% sure that is what it said on the reservation page when I checked. I even double checked before posting. I don't know how
I could have ended up on the wrong page. It no longer says that though as I just double checked. So either I was hallucinating or it was on there and it has been removed as it was incorrect. I'm sorry for the misinformation!!!!!!

No worries, GusGus! I just posted that Disney owns Candy Cane Inn, which did not turn out to be true :rolleyes1. I'd read that in another thread. I'm going to have to stop doing that :teeth:

We have stayed at both many times but give a slight nudge to PVI because of their superior free breakfast choices. But if they don't have a room then BWPPI is a very close second.

Thanks for all the replies. I just bought the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2015 and it only rated PVI as 2.5 stars, but most of the reviews I found online were positive. Wonder if they have updated since the book was written?

There is a difference between a hotel's "rating" and its "ranking".

A low rated hotel (2 1/2 stars) can be highly ranked (#8 on TripAdvisor) because the rankings are a measure of guest satisfaction. If you go in expecting a 2 1/2 star hotel it probably will meet your expectations. If you go expecting the #8 RATED hotel (as opposed to rank) then you are likely to be disappointed.

Just checked availability and BWPPI is only available first four of five nights. We could switch over to park Vue for last night. Worth it or too much hassle? Might have to go with Park Vue for entire stay.
Call BWPPI directly and ask if they can extend your stay for that last night. I have never had a problem doing that. Perhaps book both and keep calling BWPPI until someone cancels and you can get your room for that last night.
I prefer BWPPI to PVI; we gave PVI a second chance this year and I will not return.
