Help Me Decide - AKV or WLV

Don't know whether you will be able to choose which building you're in, however, I did read somewhere it will be noted on your reservation which building you're in for checkin purposes......so based on that info, I would have to assume you certainly will have some say as to which building you would like to be in. For myself, I also think I would prefer Kidani Village......at least based on the plans we're seeing now.......who knows....maybe once the building begins opening sections and we all see just HOW long the hallways are we'll change our minds!!! Don't know whether the point value will be different........I would not think so because I think the point values would be posted already if that were the case.

I wasn't sure if I should ask this question in a new thread or not, so please let me know if I should!
In summer of 2008 (say early August) is it more likely you would be waitlisted at AKV or VWL in say, a 1 bedroom, at the 7th month mark. The reason for the question is that we are considering an add-on (have serious addonitis) and are torn between AKV and VWL. I wonder if I buy at WL would we be less likely to be able to stay a few nights at AKV or vice versa? I'm guessing AKV is more likely to have unavailability because of the newness and the fact that it is not complete yet! We love both resorts equally and are unsure which one to add points on.

Thanks!
Do what I did- add on at both of them! :woohoo:

I think I remember hearing somewhere that when BWV opened there was only 1 room choice, then they changed it and added Standard and Preferred. Something about owners complaining about the big difference is views. Do you think they would do something like that?

Maybe this isn't known yet, but when construction is completed on Kidani, if you book a reservation for a 1BR, will you get to choose between Kidani and Jambo? Will the Jambo be a Standard or Value room? It just seems as though it would be since the Kidani rooms are so much nicer.

Each building is a seperate booking category so: Yes, once Kidani is complete you willb e able to choose (provided there is availability at both for the room category you're looking for....value and Conicerge will ONLY be at Jambo) which building you'd like to stay in.

Jambo will have ALL types of rooms: Savannah, Concierge, Standard and value.

Kidani will ONLY have Standard and Savannah.

There was some debate over whether they could change the points or not early on.

I THINK the general consensus was that, since AKV is AKV (different building or not) that they couldn't change the point chart except by their normal means (adjusting one up while adjusting another down). They could suprise us (by doing something unorthodox like adding 2 more booking categories altogether to cover Kidani), I suppose, but I just don't see that happening. From a sales perspective, I'd think they would want to keep things as simple as possible for prospective buyers. Having a total of 6 categories in one resort would, IMHO, be a bit offputting.

Based strictly on size, once AKV is fully built out, I'd think the "tougher ticket" would be VWL. AKV will be almost 4 times larger.....
