Background info

This will be my second WDW trip as an adult (we went in 2008 off property in huge home)
My sister or husband hasn't been and none of her kids have been either
They are buying a brand new Class C motorhome, we own a nice size pop-up

Who(at time of trip)
It would be my family which is Hubby,DD10 and DS8
Sister and family of 4 kids DD16,DS11,DD7,DS4
Mimi and grandaddy joining us too
no pets!!

would like to stay in sites with cable and close to bathhouse(for us) and other things..need your help here

Visiting either in March or June.. I know hot in June but I watch kids at my home and need to go when it is convenient for them also. Has anyone camped in June and been ok?

we would be arriving Saturday from Tennessee and leaving Sat also the following week.

wish list would be to go to all parks plus Universal(1 or 2 days???)

which tickets should we get and how to maximize our trip and have fun at the fort plus the parks?

will add more and more questions since I am still new to the whole staying on Disney property too

:welcome: to the camping boards, your family will love Fort Wilderness!

Weather wise March would be better but also you have the spring break crowds to deal with. June will be hot hot hot! The past couple of years June has been as hot as July and August.

Since your sister is getting a class C she will need at least full hookups and I would assume you want to have a site near her's. All sites have cable TV so beyond that it is a matter of what you want to be close to.

Preferred will be close to the Settlement area where the marina (which has the boat to MK) and Pioneer Hall are.

Premium can be close to the Settlement area or close to the Meadows area which is where the campfire, main pool, tennis courts, etc are.

Full hookups are a little further away from the activities of the Fort but they are also quieter.

With any of these types of sites you can request to be close to a comfort station (bath house).

You can reserve your site directly through Disney using their website or call 407-934-7639. Or you can use AAA or a travel agent, just keep in mind if you use AAA or a travel agent you can't call Disney directly to make changes to your reservation.

As far as tickets go it is going to depend on how your family likes to see the parks, do you like to spend a whole day in one park? or do you like to park hop? To be honest though, with 4 Disney parks and 2 Universal parks you may not have a whole lot of time for downtime at the Fort, but once again that all depends on how your family likes to tour the parks.

I would recommend doing lots of research on the ticket options and keep those questions coming, we will do our best to answer or at least give our opinions.

thanks for your answers. When we went in 2008 we missed alot. Hard going with 11 people and pleasing everyone. We went end of May first of June and were always back to the house by 2.
I think we will be getting park hoppers and I dont know if we will do 2 days at Universal or do the 2 park one day thing.. My dad wants to do the whole movie lot thing and My sister wants to go to HP. . Can we do it in one day or use could we do one in a half a day like after Animal Kingdom?

For discount information http://www.mousesavers.com/ is the best site I've seen.

I'd do March before June, too hot for me. Doing 6 parks in 6 days is gonna be tough since it's busy season. You can still have a blast though. Maybe hit early and late magic hours, swim, relax and nap in the middle of the day.

For the Disney parks we always do park hoppers and can do 2 parks each day, but then again I live just over an hour away so we pick and choose what we want to see. That is hard to do when you have a big group and everyone wants to do something different.

Like 2goofycampers said, take a break in the afternoons to swim or rest/nap and try to take advantage of EMH.

I have not been to Universal in 8-9 years so I can't answer whether you can do both parks in one day or not. My family is planning to go this July and I am planning on 2 Universal days, one to just enjoy IOA focusing mostly on Harry Potter and the other day at US and whatever we didn't see in IOA on the first day.

Would it be at all possible for your party to split up for the Universal day? This way your sister's family could see Harry Potter and your dad could see US.
