We have been to WDW many times, we go twice a year, and my husband loves WDW, but when I suggested the cruise this year he said "what is there to do on the cruise?" Please give me some ideas to convince him. We have 2 childern ages 5 - boy and 4 - girl. I would like to do the 7 day cruise but he is saying IF we go, lets try 4 days at WDW and then the 3 day cruise. (The reason I don't want to do the 4 day cruise and then 3 day WDW is that then we would have to be at WDW on the weekend and it is busier on the weekends and we are DVC members so weekend points are awful.)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Do it his way, the land/sea combo. He'll love it and insist on booking a 7 day! That way you'll get two cruises out of it.lol.

Thanks for the suggestion ragdoll! I still need to convince my husband in doing the 3 day cruise any suggestions as what there is to do?

My husband was very doubtful about a cruise, so I talked him into a 3 night last October. We have since done a 7 night and are booked for another 3 night in Oct. Here are the things he liked: ESPN club--sports trivia contests, as well as all the games on the TVs up there. He loved the meals, and just walking up to get food almost everywhere without having to pay for it. He liked the availablity of movies (again for free-or included), he liked the idea of visiting the Bahamas without having to stay there for so many days. He got a kick out of discovering the ship--what all was on board. He really liked watching the docking procedure. He enjoyed Castaway Cay, even though he isn't a beach person. He enjoyed all the sail away parties, from a distance. He loved looking on the veranda at the other ships. He also just enjoyed relaxing, reading and napping the room (this was during the 7 night-the 3 night is too short for much of that). I was surprised by all that does go on during the cruise, there really isn't much time to get bored. DH also loved the fact that the kids clubs kept our DD happy and busy so we could have quiet dinners, and a little privacy.

visit the following site:

www.dcltribute.com

check out all the info on Dave's site, then scroll down his list of links and visit Barb's (inkkognito) site and download and print EntropyM's cruise guide for your hubby te read at his leisure.

These three site will answer almost any question you have. If not--just come back here and ask!

I showed my DH the DCL cruise video--he then decided he might try the 3-day. Well, we went on the 3-day cruise, then a 7-day, and have a 3rd 7-day booked for next year. He loves it! :D

My husband loved the idea he was just a short walk to the room if he wanted to rest or nap. He also loved the snorkeling in the Bahamas (even though we live in Florida, there is nothing like snorkeling in the Bahamas or Caribbean). The fact we could all go our own way on the ship to do whatever we wanted (movies, swim, lounges, shopping) made he a bit more at ease. Try these on him. Good luck!

Both DH and I said we would NEVER go on a cruise (I'm very afraid of deep water-thank my parents for letting me see Jaws at the age of 8). WDW sent me their 2000 vacation video and along with it came a small DCL brochure. DD (2 at the time) liked to look at it because of all the characters. Well, onr day I decided to read it cover to cover. After that I was very curious about going. What convinced me to talk to DH was we had 3 year old twins and the vacation options were very limited. I felt the boat was only so big, so we wouldn't get as exhausted as the parks, and if there was a meltdown we were only an elevator ride back to the cabin vs. being on the far side of some park. Also, the thought of sending the kids to the club (even for 1 hour) to have some alone time sounded good. Also, DH isn't a beach person, so I figured he'd never agree to vacation in the Caribbean, so we'd get a taste of the islands without being stuck there. DH reluctantly agreed (the springtime magic offer didn't hurt either). DH is a computer programmer for a large company and is under a LOT of stress and works outrageous amount of hours. Well, we went March 2001 on the 7 day cruise. That was the most relaxed I've seen DH in 3 years!!! No computer, no e-mail, no pager, no cell phone. Just our family together. It was a vacation of a lifetime! DH worked a lot of hours the summer of 2001 and I proposed going on the 4 day cruise Sept 2001 thinking he would balk at the idea. Well, we went again Sept 2001 and then spent 2 days at WDW. Just as much fun at the last, but the 4 day is too short after going on the 7 day. Well, we received a recent cruiser promo letter in Oct 2001 offering special pricing that included dates for the new Western Itinerary. Once again, I presented it to DH and guess what, we're going May 11, 2002! So, we are a family who said we would NEVER sail and we will be going on our 3rd cruise within 14 months.

As for things to do, DH and I won 2nd place in a music trivia contest, we played bingo, watched some of the best stage shows ever, played in the waves with our kids in St. Thomas and CC, felt pampered like never before in my life, sat by the adult pool in the hot tub admiring Nassau...it would take hours for me to list all the wonderful things our family has experienced. Hope you can convince DH to go. He won't regret it for 1 moment!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions, I really appreciate them! I will take this whole thread to my husband as well as the suggested web sites. Thanks again. I think we will start out with the 3 day and then hopefully get to do the 7 day like others have suggested.
