Help me Choose Wonder Rooms

I'm booked in 7036 Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah but can upgrade for $250 to the next larger room in room 8584.

Should we?

Personally, I'd use the $250 to book excursions. I guess it depends on how many of you there are in that one room.

And you'd be going from a more mid-ship room to one in the aft. Could make a difference in motion/vibration.

Well, 8584 sleeps 5, so there's the queen bed, a sofa bed (fold down back, not typical pull out sofa bed), pull down bunk, and a Murphy bed. And it's a connecting room (to 8582).

7036 sleeps 3/4 so- queen bed, sofa bed and bunk bed (over sofa). It's not a connecting room.

I would stick with 7036 for your size family. We stay in that size room with boys that are 14 & 11 and are fine. Plus deck 7 puts you a little closer to the kids clubs and you have rooms above and below you which helps with noise.

I's move to the larger with the Murphy bed so neither of the kids have to climb the bunk, plus the steamer trunk in those rooms are great for storage. Just my $.02

No more steamer trunks on the Wonder. Replaced with a cabinet.

We have stayed in 8084 (same area, other side of the ship) and it is my new favorite room other than the 1-bedroom (but I'm not likely to get to stay in one of those again, LOL).
It was one flight up to the pool area and BBB. We loved the location. But, on the port side, we were under BBB and the area above us was carpeted I think because we did not get a lot of noise. On the Starboard side, I think there is outdoor seating above you so you may get some noise from chairs moving around. I will say that I have been in deck 8 rooms both aft and mid-ship and the noise never really bothered me. I liked having the extra space inside the room more (compared to the cat 5s on deck 7). But my kids were older so the extra room came in handy.

The Steamer trunk would be in the other room also.

I thought that big ole thing at the end of the Murphy bed was the steamer trunk, my bad. Whatever it was, it was fantastic a few weeks ago when we were on the Wonder and held a boatload of stuff! I loved it.

I think we had the new shelves on our Alaskan cruise. I know there was something in that spot. We were in a 5c.

We were in 8014, it's a 4A or 4B and had one of these, we debarked on 10/1:

It was our first time in a non-inside stateroom, I couldn't believe how much stuff we could fit in that thing.

Yeah, that's the double steamer trunk. LOTS of space in those. Maybe they haven't designed the new cabinets to replace those (as they have the singles).

I like the looks of the cabinets a lot, they're really nice but I'd rather have the extra room in the trunk.

Shmoo, DD & I were just on the Wonder for the 9/17 Hawaii cruise and I was so tickled that our stateroom (Cat 5B) had one of our beloved steamer trunks! Woohoo! We were in 7098.
