We're planning a trip to the World at Christmastime, 21-28 Dec. I cannot, for the life of me, decide upon a resort. Usually I'm pretty good at this and can use my budget to decide what we can afford and then choose. We've stayed at CBR, CSR and BCV. We LOVED BCV but I don't think its in the budget this time. We're also military so...I'm waiting for news on a potential military discount coming out that we could take advantage of, but I'm not sure if I should hold my breath. (are there other discounts I could look into/use?). We have two small kids, ages 4 and 2 who will be with us. Here's my short list of potential resorts and why:
Swan/Dolphin: walking distance to Epcot/DHS
POR: cheaper, we may drive instead of fly so we could avoid buses altogether
AoA: LOVE the idea of family suites, but they are more expensive than POR
BC/YC: Standard room, no villa, still pricey but again I
the BC, walking distance to Epcot/DHS
Fort Wilderness cabin: like the idea of a villa like room for less than a villa price, not sure about this without all the regular resort amenities though (especially no restaurants)
Potentially a monorail resort if we could swing the cost, just for convenience.
We prefer the monorail and walking to the buses so that is why I chose many of the resorts I did. However, we haven't decided if we want to drive from Kentucky or fly, cost wise it would come out about equal.
Also, please don't suggest SoG, I know we qualify, we choose not to stay there. We also really like the dining plan and would love to be able to have that, I know we can't get it at Swan/Dolphin but the location of those resorts might make up for it.
