Help me choose my Wish cruise

I was thrilled to book a 4 night sailing in late July 2022 for my family of 4 on silver release day. Cost was $6900 for a 5B (ouch!). Still, inaugural season and it sails over 2 birthdays in our family with no missed school etc, and I love summer cruising.

I looked this morning and ended up booking a B2B HOTHS on the Wish over the actual day of Halloween. A 3 night and 4 night in the same 5B stateroom for our family of 4 was $8200 total. We’ve never done a b2b and we’ve never done a HOTHS. This one won’t be over any family birthdays but being on board for Halloween would be fun. Plus 2 days at CC plus more days on the Wish.

I’m going to hold onto both the July Wish sailing and the b2b in October for awhile, but will ultimately need to choose between the two. I’m super torn between a summer sailing which is my favorite, and getting a chance to be in the Wish just a month after the MV, and having to wait til October but then getting to do a b2b and having those extra days on the Wish. Help sway me one way or the other please!

I’d rather have the extra days. But I don’t care about being one of the first people on the ship. It’s the same ship whether you sail a month after the inaugural or five months after.

If summer is your favorite time to cruise, I think you'll enjoy that more. Plus, late October is the tail end of high hurricane season, so you run the risk of a disruption (either schedule change or cancellation, or damaged ports including damaged CC if there was a severe hurricane prior) with a pair of October cruises. Summer is "technically" part of hurricane season, which officially runs from June through November, but the real, high hurricane season lasts from late August through October. That's why early fall cruises are among the cheapest you'll ever find.

I booked in June but changed to Dec when they came out.. Saved money too!!
