We are having a very difficult time choosing between ASM and POP, I need some opinions. It will be me, hubby, and my two kids dd 9 and ds 6. We will be going from June 10-17 . Also, I was going to book online thru Disney's website, just curious if anyone who has done this has had a good or bad experience.

I can't say anything about PoP, but we have stayed at AsMo 2x and loved it! It's a great hotel. The kids love the Disney theming and the Mickey pool. You will not be disappointed. It's clean, the cm's are very pleasant, the food court is good and the buses are always fine. There are great areas to take pics of the kids too! :teeth:

My family went to WDW with my sister's family for Christmas( 9 of us). We stayed at Pop C. and my family and the only Value my family has been to is Pop. My sister and her family, however, have stayed at each of the All Stars Resorts so I'll share their opinion with you. My sister and her husband agree that Pop was nicer. She also said that the bus service is better at Pop and that the food at the Food Court was better at Pop than at All Stars.

pop definitely...newer....own bus service...fun atmosphere....lots to see around the grounds...nice food court....super nice staff.....got any questions about itl..email me..as you can see we have been 1 or 2 times....and i might be able to answer any of your questions..

I prefer Pop over the All Stars. I just like the icons at Pop better than the ones at the All Stars. I also thought that the food court was far superior to the food court at the All Star Music. It also seems more compact than the All Stars, and the landscaping is nicer.

Thanks for the replies, I think we are going to go with POP :earsboy: We are very excited!

It sounds like you have made up your mind but I'll share my opinion anyway. :earsboy: We have stayed at both resorts twice and choose POP. I wouldn't be unhappy to stay at ASMo as we enjoyed our stays there and love the theming but POP is our current favorite. Everything that makes the All Stars good is even better at POP. Plus the fact that you don't have to share a bus with another resort is nice. If you have little ones the pop jets are a lot of fun, my 13yo even likes to play in them LOL!

I agree about Pop - I've stayed in the 50s, 80s & 90s eras, and am heading back next week to hopefully hit 60s or 70s!!!! I have stayed at ASMu, which I liked, but still prefer Pop.

For me, never having been to POP, I can only suggest that you consider if themeing is important to you at all. If you dont mind pop culture instead of Disney, then you may want to go with Pop, since anything WDW thought was *wrong* at the all stars, was fixed for PC :upsidedow

#1DizGal, how were the rooms in the 80's and 90's, are they really a far walk from the main building?

We stayed in the 80's last year and it was a little bit of a walk to the main building but not bad. The only time it bothered me was one night when it poured buckets and we were walking to the food court to get somethiung to eat. It was funny watching everyone run from building to building trying to stay out of the rain. :earsboy: You can cut through the parking lot from the 80's and 90's building to the bus stops so that you don't have to go through the main building. I wouldn't mind staying there again since you have a pool and laundry right there and the walk isn't too awful.

We have stayed both places.

We loved POP.
We liked ASM.

We were in the 70's building at POP and the Mighty Ducks at ASM. It was quite a haul from the bus back to our room at ASM at the end of the night. The lines for the bus at the end of the night for POP were HUGE. I was worried at first until I saw that they sent multiple buses for the POP line so the wait wasn't that bad.

Over all we felt that POP was cleaner, food was better, CMs were nicer, and we liked it the best.

Having stayed at both, I would highly recommend the Movies ::yes:: over Pop any day. We LOVED the Movies!! With all the Disney characters, plus we had great service from checking in to Mousekeeping. Also, the food was great! :cool1:

Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for Pop. We really did not like this resort. Check-in was long (not that many people there), :headache: Mousekeeping was very slow (4pm by the time the room was cleaned) and the food in the food court was nasty (had the pb & fluff twice. Bread was stale both times. The pizza was gross too). :crazy2:

swkmom - I was in the 80s building the very first time (7 weeks after Pop opened). I had a top floor, courtyard view room. Very nice - and wasn't too far of a walk. But when I stayed in the 90s in October, I had a top floor, parking lot view - and it was FABULOUS. It was a really short trek thru the parking lot to Everything Pop. I actually slept 13 hours one day. VERY comfortable beds, I must say! Like I've said before, I seem to be in the minority about the 90s cellphone buildings, but that's just me!

Done both---you can't go wrong!

Our PC room last month looked out over the hourglass lake, and it was nice to walk along the lake. ASMo appealed to the kids, because we had the Toy Story section, and that is a fave movie.

Pick one, and save the other one for next year!!! :cool1:
