Ok--I am in desperate need of advice for choosing a character breakfast and my booking window opens tomorrow! We're staying at OKW and the make-up of our party are me (late 40s), my mom (early 70s), cousin (late 40s), cousin's DS (13), cousins DD (7). My mom and I take frequent visits to WDW but this is my cousin's 2nd time in the last 20 years and her kids' first visit. She really only wants to do one character breakfast during our 6-day stay. Would like to do it on our 2nd MK day (planning to sleep in a little since we're doing MNSSHP the day before). I'm debating between the following:
1900 Park Fare--really liked the food when we did BF last year)
'Ohana--meh food but really liked the characters
Chef Mickey's--haven't done this buffet in over 18 years and all I remember was meh food and really, really loud!
Crystal Palace--haven't done this buffet in many, many years.

What would you choose for a 13-yo boy and 7-yo girl?

Unless there's a love of Pooh, I'd skip Crystal Palace.

With a 13 year old boy, I'd either do the Fab Five at Chef Mickeys or Stitch at Ohana.

I don't remember who the characters are at Park Fare now....

If I had to pick one of those 4 I'd probably go Park Fare simply for the food. Character wise and ambience for a family gathering I'd probably go 'Ohana

Crystal Palace if you schedule it for later part of breakfast then you can also get the lunch items as they switch over. Also churro Mickey waffles.

If you doing AK, I would recommend Tusker House breakfast instead of MK character dining. Topolino’s breakfast at Riviera is also very good. Better for a Epcot or HS day because you can pop over on the Skyliner.

The only character breakfast we do is at Topolino's. It can be a little pricey but the food is great and the servers are always willing to give you more if you want it.

Chef Mickeys
With monorail gliding thru Contemporary
Early Morn view of Walt Disney sunrise and MK waking up as Boats starting arriving for the day
Plus the Housekeeping Staff Welcome overhead waving their white towels to the delight of everybody enjoying Chef Mickey !
I wonder if they have chocolate Mickey waffles with vanilla ice cream for breakfast

Actually Cinderellas Castle is the best choice !
Probably not available but keep trying
Plus easy transport to the destination from OKW
It’s awesome to dine inside Castle for fireworks too

My boys liked Cape May growing up and I think the food is better there than Chef Mickeys and way less hectic

Honestly, I'd go with whatever buffet has the characters the kids like best. If there are no preferences, I'd go with Crystal Palace for the convenience of being IN Magic Kingdom instead of having to get there after breakfast. DD/GS did the Castle in May and DD said while the food is good, the character interaction is hit-or-miss (maybe cuz she went with a boy... Merida was great, the others not so much) and it really isn't worth the money.
