Here are a few Scenarios of Days, Anyone want to help us figure out how to navigate the systems, bus, boat, monorail etc to enjoy the most of these days? - All From AKV - all leisure days....dont know if buses go from AKV to any other resorts or just parks....?

challenge #1: going to spend a day riding monorail and visiting Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian...I assume though we have to take the bus to MK then get on Monorail...

challenge #2: want to spend day at wilderness Lodge, ft wilderness and Poly again...

challenge #3: Downtown Disney & Port Orleans Riverside & Board walk area

trying to figure things out ahead of time...any challenge takers?

You are right, there are no buses going resort to resort they only go resort to park.

For #1 Yes you will need to take a bus to the MK first. Then use a monorail or a boat to goto the first resort, the monorail to the other two. You need to take a bus back from MK, so don't leave a resort after MK is closed.

#2 This is tricky. You will need to goto a park first then From WL to FW you can take a boat or go bus to park to FW. From FW to Poly you need a bus to park then bus to Poly or you can do a boat to MK and boat to Poly.

#3 Is easy because there are boats between DTD and the Port Orleans resorts. But you still need to take a bus to a resort to PO or a DTD. Hard to say but either could take just as long.

PP answered most of your questions.

You also asked about going to the Boardwalk area. You can take a bus from your resort to DHS then walk (or take the boat). Alternately take a bus from DTD to one of the resorts in the EPCOT resort area (BC/YC/Boardwalk Swan Dolphin. You want to walk around. Might as well get off at the first stop.

agreeing with the others but adding my own twist since you say this is a leisure day, I'm assuming you just want to enjoy the ride & aren't worried about speeding from one place to the other? If so, here's how I would travel to make it more an adventure:

#1-take AKL bus to EPCOT then enjoy a ride on the monorail between epcot & MK. From the TTC you can ride the big steamboat over to the MK then either walk or board monorail to CR. This will position you on the resort monorail to ride to each one ending up at MK to board the bus back to your resort.

#2) take AKL bus to MK, ride the boats to WL & Ft. Wilderness. When you're finished, ride the boats back to MK & either ride the monorail or another small boat over the Poly. After challange #1, you'll have that navigated rather nicely :)

#3) Take AKL bus to DTD - enjoy - then ride the boat from the Mktplace area to the Port Orleans resorts. From there catch a bus to the studios, then ride the boat (or walk) over to the boardwalk area. Don't forget you can walk to fantasia mini golf from the boardwalk area, a little beyond the Swan & Dolphin pool area. It's a cute course. We left DH at the ESPN club to enjoy some cold ones while we played :lmao:

I agree with doing the boat rides as much as possible. It is so quaint and charming. You get views you normally don't get to see. Plus, I find I get tired of riding buses and leap at the opportunity to do something a little bit different.

Another option:

#2: Take AKL to MK. At MK, take boat to WL. Enjoy. Take scenic walking trail from WL to FW. Enjoy. Take boat at FW to CR (this boat goes between FW, WL, and CR). Board Monorail and go to Poly.

Many thank Yous!!!

what great ideas...I like the boat ideas...Oh this is going to be a fun adventure I can tell...I can't wait.....I'm going to try to map out each day!

Yes, love the add in of the scenic walk :thumbsup2

BTW, so sorry to see in your signature about your dad. My sympathies

There is also a boat (and a bus) that runs between WL & FtW, so you won't need to go back to the MK to get from one to the other, if you decide not to walk.
