So I'm an idiot and waited until the last minute to exchange my dollars and apparently you need 3 days notice to get euros. I called my bank branch near my office and they said they had euros so I wrongly assumed the branch at my house would have them. I tried 3 different banks where we have accounts ( chase , Bank of America , and Wells Fargo). None have euros.

I saw the marriot in Heidelberg can exchange currency. Where would I get the best rate? Hotel? Airport? I feel like I'm going to lose so much money now ...TIA!

You can get Euros at any ATM in Germany, even at the airport. You will likely incur a small transaction fee from your bank, but getting Euros should be easy.

This is not an issue. There will be ATMs at the airport; stop at one on your way out of the airport.

Be sure to give your bank a travel notification.

Thanks. I have a ton of cash on me because we just got married so no need for an ATM just need to exchange . There is a stand in the Newark airport right where I'm sitting now so I may just stop there.

You'll get a better exchange rate through an atm typically than exchanging cash, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to exchange a some cash.
