My husband and I are considering heading back to WDW this year now that Tron will be open. We are considering either Labor Day Wknd and Veterans Day Wknd. I went LDW last year, and crowd wise it was pretty good actually - but it stormed a good bit every day. I've never been on Veteran's Day Wknd - what are the chances Food & Wine will still be happening AND Christmas parties in MK? The nice thing about LDW was that I was about to combine Food and Wine with Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party - if it was possible to do the same this with Christmas in November....that might be more appealing given the weather - but I don't know if crowds are much worse then?

I know both are holiday weekends which will mean more crowds than usual - but unfortunately those are our only choices. Thank you in advance for any advice!

Absolutely no contest - I would do Labor Day weekend. It's the least crowded holiday weekend out of the entire year.

Veteran's day weekend is INSANE. That timeframe also falls under what is referred to as "Jersey week" where the entire state of New Jersey packs up and goes to WDW. I'm from NJ and I'll never go that week again.

I agree. Labor day weekend. I agree so much that last week I booked for 9/2 through 9/9. The only negative factor about any time in Sept. is the weather. Can still be very hot and humid. There can also be rain storms, thunder storms and there is always the risk of a hurricane. I am just crossing my fingers for a relatively dry week.

The positive is that it is traditionally one of the lowest crowd levels of the entire year. Especially during the week days as it is the start of the school year and traditionally parents don't want to have their kids miss significant school time at the very start of the year.

Agree with PPs, Labor Day is way better than around veteran's day, other than the weather. Unless you can go before Jersey Week or after but still before Thanksgiving, I'd pick LD. We have done long weekends around the 14-19 and the crowds are much lighter but it's always the weekend after VD and before Thanksgiving. We get Christmas and usually better weather. F&W is usually going mid-July through mid Nov so it will encompass Labor Day and Veteran's day. The christmas parties start early in November so I'm sure that MK will have some parties around Veteran's Day. But again, I'd still choose LD and take my chances with PM thunderstorms over VD.

Definitely Labor Day. School is back is session or kids going back right after. Veteran's Day has so many other things factoring in as PPs have mentioned. September obviously has worse weather as you already know, but at least fewer crowds.

I know everyone else is saying Veteran's Day weekend is crazy, but I was there that weekend last year and I didn't think it was any worse than any other time of year I've been there. And to answer your question, yes Christmas parties and food and wine are both happening at that time. My family and I enjoyed the Christmas party/food and wine combo so much that we will very likely go back that weekend this year as well.

We usually go a time that is busy which is every few years during Thanksgiving and it is crowded but manageable. I don’t think there are many times anymore where there aren’t crowds so I would select VDW as you can experience the things you mentioned interest you MVMCP and F&W Festival.
