HELP Just arrived and so unhappy

waiting too to hear the outcome of the move and if the OP is now satisfied. :surfweb::surfweb:

Every single resort is going to have the chance of having rude people in it. I have stayed at Music at the same time as the PopWarner kids..both football players and the cheerleaders. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the food court was busy at the expected times. But, we just changed our meal times and were fine...we got there earlier than the kids and had no issues.
We had no trouble with the girls cheering at off hours. Yes, they could get noisy on the buses but what the heck. It was the bus, I wasn't trying to sleep.
As for the resort being dirty.....I hate to be argumentative, but I find that very hard to believe. Disney resorts are ridiculously clean. I have to wonder if perhaps the OP happened upon something that had just occured and maintainance hadn't had a chance to fix it yet.

Right, I agree here. As can be seen from my sig line, I've been to the values more often than not, and I've never had a problem with groups.

But then.. most of the time I'm so deliriously happy to be at WDW that I don't always notice. LOL! :cool1:

Anyway, I too am waiting impatiently to hear from OP!

I think if Disney addressed the problem by saying all groups will be staying at Sports and Movies and an overflow block at Pop and this may interfeer with your vaction. We are willing to address this problem by providing you with the Music resort totally cheer free, it might go a long way to solving the problems. As I am older now, I know it would totally make me mad to have cheering going on all night and nothing I could do about it.

It is up to Disney and the Coaches to say all right we are putting an end to this at 10:00pm, or whenever the last park closes and then to enforce that. It is also up to the Coaches and the cheerleaders to say you will not behave like that. You will be kind and respectful, if you are not, you will not represent our team because you do not promote what we are about.

Agreed! Disney knows these groups are coming!! Someone, somewhere said these groups pay extra to stay there. OK. Why not put or move extra veteran staff to handle the issues? Dedicated front desk staff, not a call center. Coaches need to be available all night in case of issues where Disney staff would be able to contact them and I truly bet they are as well as the parents. Being responsible for someone's children is no easy job!! It may not work in all situations, but it may help.

Don't you think being even just a little proactive is worth a try?? Personally, I really don't think Disney will ever turn these groups away, as it truly adds to their bottom line--the good, the bad and the ugly!! Let's not forget the all the controversy. Why not flag the system to alert those making reservations, that these groups traditionally booked for x amount of time during the months of .... and may be here,--would you like to stay at ...? Options up front. You get the picture!! Hospitality for all. Just MHO.

Hey, I figure if she isn't going to tell us, we could always make up stories. You guys are always good at entertaining me. I still laugh about the drunk hula girls in Small World if they allowed alcohol in MK. :lmao:

LOL!! WHAT?? :rotfl2:

I just have these horrible images of her being duct taped in one of the cheerleader rooms while they practice the same cheer over and over again. Kind of like being stuck on Small World for hours on end. Maybe we need to send a reconnaissance (yes, I had to look up the spelling:rolleyes1) team in for her.

popcorn:: I too am anxiously awaiting the 'ending' to her saga. I'm hoping that OP is too busy enjoying her new deluxe resort and being out in the parks to worry about updating us. :goodvibes

Still following this.... :surfweb:

Again (as a 7 time attendee at this event IN an all-star resort). I totally agree that people should be warned upon booking. I totally agree that it is parents/chaperones job to keep noise levels to a minimum. I totally agree that there will be a few bad seeds in the bunch (just like when it's all families there are as well.)

That being said...and I'm not negating OP's thoughts...just putting this out there. In all my years of attending this... I have never seen kids being obnoxiously loud (AFTER 10pm). However, I've seen a few rowdy groups of "parents." It is my experience that there ARE loud kids during the day...as there are with families too. But I've never seen "chaos" after 10pm like some people have described here...never. Maybe I was lucky? But after 7 years attending... how lucky could I have been?

Also - and forgive me if I'm misinterpreting... but how could OP have seen/heard rowdiness after curfew if she had just checked in?

As for the "cleanliness"... I'll agree... I've seen the All-Star resorts during BOTH cheer events...and NO cheer events. It's just not the same as the mods or deluxes. Never seen POP...maybe that's different? Regardless... the point of my post is that "some" (much?) of what OP is complaining about is at AllStars all the time regardless of sporting events. At least this has been the case with my visits...YMMV.:confused3

OH...and if you want to AVOID these events... do NOT go to all-stars/values at ALL from Mid-January to Mid-March. That's almost a guarantee.... You have college nationals midJan. HS nationals midFeb. AllStars midMarch. Weekends are almost always middle of month with little variations. But to avoid totally (including Dance nationals)...just dont' do value in Jan/Feb/March. Happy to help!

Ok, after reading all 10 pages, sign me up. I want to know how it ends. :rotfl:

BTW, my daughter used to cheer for a team that goes to WDW every year, and I can tell you that those chaperones couldn't care less what the girls were up to, as long as they showed for practice and competition. The girls knew it was a free-for-all and took advantage. Thankfully, my daughter was too young to be on the senior team and never went. The coaches even discouraged parents from staying with their girls. Thought it would be a distraction.

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: My DH and I were talking about the OP's situation this morning and he said something similar to your post.

OP come out come out where ever you are ~ you left a lot of people hanging here.:confused3 I truly hope that you were able to moved to your new vacation destination and hoping that you are now enjoying your trip.:flower3:

From late January thru mid-late March, every weekend there is at least one of a cheer, dance, twirl competition going on at or near Disney. They most commonly placed at the values but can be in some number at any resort.. altho generally speaking there are very few at the Deluxes.

Again for a couple of weekends in late April - it happens again.

Disney needs to start enforcing the code of conduct that they ask these groups to sign on to.

Until we - the consumers - hold DISNEY responsible.. nothing will change. Ultimately Disney holds all the cards here. It would only take a few teams being kicked out and sent home from competition early to send the message that disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

Ultimately, my business relationship is with Disney -- not with the UCA, Spirit USA etc. So, I strongly suggest that anybody impacted by this foolishness complain to Disney longly and loudly until their complaints are addressed.

Anything else is a waste of your time unfortunately.

To the OP - I hope you were taken care of as promised.

I am going to venture our OP is in the parks doing some magic and successfully moved. We DEFINITELY would have heard from her if she was still stuck at the All Stars with all those screaming pepsters. Even if they stop at 10, that is way past the bedtime for many little kids and families. In addition, it is the unsupervised rudeness that is also a major problem.

No one should have to endure this on their expensive vacation. (Even the values are an expensive vacation to many!) I do like the idea of a separate lodging at WWS.

I said this somewhere else. I think the cheerleaders should practice at Pop Century Legendary Years..... ;)

HI,
We've learned from past mistakes to never go to the value resorts when Pop Warner or other sporting events are happening.....They are full of kids..That being said they would be full of kids other times too, but this is where they are at when the competitions are happening...Port Orleans was a lot better even thou some of the groups were there too....Good luck finding something....
Bonnie

so Jan-April are cheerleaders, June is Wookies, July is BTG's, December is Pop Warner..... notice the trend

Maybe she complained too loudly, they threw her in a basket toss, and she's hanging from the roof?

Or she's just enjoying her vacation as it should be. Hope everything is going well now for her family..:)
