Help! Is the food and Hollywood & Vine really that bad?

No. I was very apprehensive about going, because of the negative remarks, but kept the ADR for the Fantasmic package. It turned out to be a very nice meal. All the food was fresh, hot food was hot, cold food was cold, the buffet line was kept clean, and service was great. :)

We don't find it that bad. It's not the best food, but I think it's in line with the other buffets of the same food. In terms of dinner, I find it so much better than Crystal Palace. But that's just my opinion.

We did not like it. It was lukewarm at best and both times we were there they ran out of food and were very slow to replace it. The service was terrible too...took 20 minutes to get our drinks and never did get a refill. It is typical buffet food...had it been hot it might have been better. We gave it two tries and will not be back. We prefer the buffets at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's tenfold.

i thought it was horrible, however i would go again just for the character interaction. The kids had a wonderful time, they danced and played and sang with the characters, so that in itself was worth it for me.

My teen boys love H&V. We had such a great server the last time. She was so funny. The food is like Old Country Buffet. It is good and filling but don't expect a five star restaurant. But there are kids serving themselves so it can get messy quick. If noise and messiness bother you, I would skip it.

We enjoyed our dinner at H&V in December. I wouldn't say it was the best meal I've ever had but it was decent buffet food. As someone else said, the hot food was hot, the cold food was cold. Our server was pretty prompt with drinks. We thought the food was decent. We would eat there again.

I loved the food..although it was VERY busy and service was super slow. Depsite the crowd...I would eat here again in a heart beat!

We enjoyed the food there. If I had to choose between the two, I'd pick 50s prime time over H&V, but I would not hesitate to eat at H&V again.

We went for dinner and will never go back, the food was not only that bad but the service was non existant, the drinks were not filled, had to hunt the waitress down for our bill, the tables around us and ours were never cleaned and the kicker is we had to wait an hour past our ADR time (there was no where else to go last minute)

We eat there every trip. The kids love the choices. While the service can be on the slow side, all they're really getting you is drinks anyhow. Just keep in mind that it is a buffet and not made to order. With that said we really like it.

We'll be eating there for breakfast in October. We're going mostly for the characters, but I hope the food isn't THAT bad.

We went for dinner and we both left hungry. It was really that bad for us. I didn't even want to eat anymore of the picked over dessert. *shudder*

in Sept we'll do # 3x there for dinner-- their buffet is fine-- i'm a rather 'plain' eater so meat & potatos and dessert is great for me and we've never been disappointed--plus i like the Fantasmic pkg--:goodvibes

Went for lunch in March to appease the midget in our party.

Far and beyond the worst food I have ever had in any Disney restaraunt.

The best offerings were on the 1.5 foot high kids buffet. But nothing special.

To get through it I loaded up on meatballs from the kids area and made a ham sandwich and a turkey sandwich. The corn-grits, however, were pretty good!

Bright side - they had several characters from some lesser known Disney Channel toddler shows (I had no idea who any of them were but I've seen them before). There werent many people there at the time so the 1 year old with us got TONS of character time. I guess it was worth it for him.

He did, however, seem to eat more crayons than actual food there, so take that for what it's worth.

:confused3:

We had breakfast there last year and have an ADR for this upcoming trip. It was standard breakfast fare, but I found the food good. Not to mention the fact that my son absolutly loved the Little Einsteins (which would have been worth it anyway)

The food at breakfast is decent- nothing spectacular but decent and great character interaction. Lunch was beyond horrid- bland, golden coral type food but once again good character interaction.
