Uh oh. My mother just invited my in-laws to come with us to Orlando in MArch. :scared1:

(just kidding. Love them to bits actually. Just have to get geared up for long stories about people I never knew, the blow by blow on meals they ate on the way, and detailed descriptions of designer clothing she considered but did not actually purchase at various outlets, LOL! :rotfl: )

Never mind trying to redo all the ADRs (and guess how easy it is to switch from 5 to 7 people and keep the same times? Not!), now our Intermediate/Emerald Aisle from National is too small.

Minivans at Natl are outrageous ($600), even trying all the codes.

I found a minivan for our dates (late March 9 days) with Budget for $333. Is that the best rate I'm going to find? Any hope for National (sniff)?

Thanks!

OYE! Did you try Kiss2 at Dollar? I got a mini van (Apr 21-28) for $205 with tax using that code. Not sure if it's available for your dates.

Good luck!

Edited to correct typo in my vacation dates!

I was just coming to post the same thing! I used KISS2 at Dollar for a minivan 4/18 to 4/26 (8 days) and my rate is $242 with taxes/fees. I'm also a National EA girl, but their prices were outrageous for a minivan!

Oye is the right expression, especially since they're Jewish! I will try that code right away. Thx!

Ok -- just tried it -- $435, not as good as Budget.

We have been going from MA=MCO for 17 years and renting vans.
We just rented a van from Framingham, MA (avis) to MCO for two weeks
E card coupon 25.00 off AAA 5% off cost us 699.00. We have a route we do, so that's why. We stop in VA, stop in Savannah for lunch, and spend 3 days in St Augustine, FL before we go to MCO, so that's why we don't fly.......
This is horrible, I am an ex agent and continuously check everywhere/and anywhere! It used to be 400-under 500.00 for the 2 weeks........
This year it doubled..............................YUCKS!
No one can tell me why/including Suv's, as well.
Sorry to have to break it to you.

We are renting another van in April for 2 weeks..........and I have been looking, I tried NH (we lived there a few years back) I ll go anywhere to get it- RI/MA/NH/nothings cheap.

Try hotwire.................that's the cheapest I have seen.
You are doing the week?
(We got rid of all our cc's 3 years ago and only now have a debit and the rent a car co's don't take debit cards when you first pick up the van bill will for the payment -when we come in to get the car so have to put it under my dh business account (to hold it) then when we return the car we pay with our debit card).............if you want to pm me or let me know where you want to rent it from (area) I can look for you and try and help you.

Good luck!

Unless they are incapable of driving, I wouldn't get a bigger car. Let them rent one of their own so that they have the option of doing other things and taking outings separate from the rest of the family. Being joined at the hip for an entire trip is usually a pretty bad idea.

2 cars might be cheaper than a van...my EA car is 180 for the week on National..
I just plugged in 3/22-3/21 and used ent. free day coupon and wweb...and got 445 inc taxes /everything on national for a 7 pas mini

I absolutely agree. When we travel with our adult kids and grandkids we get 2 separate cars. They often have a different agenda than ours and having 2 cars gives us alot more freedom.

You know, that's a great point. It is probably cheaper and more sensible to rent two cars. They have some cost concerns, but if their car is under $200 I can pay for it.

Thanks everyone!
