So we are on day 2 of 8 staying at the poly and my poor 15 month old ds has 2 molars coming in. This morning he threw up on the monorail so it has been great so far.
He has never before been in pain about any of his teeth so I am not sure where to start, especially since we took the dme and have no car. If anyone can offer suggestions of any kind, I will take them. We are skipping the parks tonight and tomorrow because he is just miserable and we are accommodating him for everything. I just don’t even know what to buy that helps that I can get here in a couple hours or tomorrow. Thank you!

Camila all natural teething gel or Motrin can help...

Anything frozen would also alleviate the pain

Does he like the pool? Distraction works best for DS. We try to take him out & do something fun then. He might be cranky some of it, but seems more miserable when he’s bored too. We give Tylenol at night before bed. For DS, chewing on cold stuff never interested him. He’ll chew it a few seconds & throw it. Good luck! I’ll be at Poly in 2 weeks. You’re making me nervous!

Check with the gift shop in the hotel to see if they have teething gel and/or children's Tylenol. You might even check the child care center in the park. Anything frozen is helpful too. You can also take Uber/Lyft or a cab to the nearby Walmart.

He is not a huge fan of the pool. We did that all day yesterday but he enjoyed walking around and saying hello to everyone lol so maybe we’ll try that again tomorrow. Haha. I am sure your trip will be better than this. We knew not to expect anything with such a young baby but we are about to be a family of 4 so I wanted one big bonding vacation before this. Hopefully it’ll turn around for him. The poly has been great though. We had to cancel our Chef Mickey’s reservation this morning after ds threw up on the way there. We got off at the GF and the concierge there would not help us. Once we got back to the Poly, they cancelled our reservations without penalty and made us a new one for Friday morning. It was such a relief.

Thank you! I will definitely head to the gift shop and hit the baby care center or Walmart tomorrow if he is still not better.

Aww hope it gets better for y’all. We brought DS at 7 mos & will be going again in 2 weeks. He did great at 7 mos but he has more of his own agenda now so we’ll see!

I am so sorry- those pesky teeth have a way of showing up at the least opportune times!

We used a banana teether toothbrush thing - you might be able to get it on prime now. It looks like a banana and it can reach far enough back that it’ll reach those back molars. One of ours would chew away at that thing and it really seemed to help. A toothbrush might also do the trick if he’s in a stroller and you weren’t concerned that he might put it to far back. (Just trying to think of something similar you might have on hand or easy access to).

If you head to a park definitely check out the baby care centers they are magical and have so much support. Frozen or cold teethers (amazon or Walmart... possibly amazon prime now even) and pain meds like mortin are helpful.

Hope tomorrow he’s feeling better

My kids always seemed to be more bothered by teething when they were lying flat, so I would try to keep him propped up when possible. An ice cold washcloth/bib etc also would help.

Thank you. This is great advice. I would never have thought of that.
