On our first day we are doing Magic Kingdom all day. I am needing somewhere that is in or close to MK. we are already doing Crystal Palace one night. My bunch is kinda meat and pototoa people. Kinda of plain stuff. We also have Le Cellier one night..... So any ideas would be helpful, Thanks Becky

I can think of two choices for "meat and potato" types. If you want to stay in tohe park, Liberty Tree Tavern is great right in Liberty Square. It is a character dinner and is served family style. Another choice is at the Poly which is not a character meal but is all about GRILLED MEAT and that is Ohana. It's fun for the kids with coconut races around the restaurant (kids "sweep" coconuts across the floor with brooms). I'd advise an early seating at Ohana or you could wait even with a PS. Either that, or time your PS with MK fireworks, which you can see from the restaurant.
Enjoy!

I would suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge or O'hana at the Poly. You can't go wrong with either one!

For our upcoming trip, we have quite a few meals planned for the MK area....Whispering Canyon, Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, and The Plaza. We are also a "meat and potato" bunch....we aren't into fancy, but at the same time are willing to try new and different things. All four of these places suit us perfectly. And just for the record, the fun at WCC can't be beat, imho! :goodvibes

We've enjoyed:

Tony's at MK

Ohana's at Poly

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary

1900 Park Fare at the GF

Kona Cafe at the Poly - far better food than Ohana or 1900 Park Faire. Check out the dining reviews. I have rarely read a poor review on Kona and thats not the case w/ Ohana or 1900 Park. .

Get the boat over to the campground and try Trails End. The buffet must be one of the most underated in WDW...and great value.

Head over to the Poly on the monorail and go to either the Kona Cafe or Ohana. There both great and have lots of meat dishes. Liberty Tree isn't so hot, and "character meal" there means the animals from Pocahontas. Trails End was pretty good, and had meat and potatoes as the primary dishes. Just don't go by the bus. It takes forever! Plaza is probably one of the better MK sit downs.

In MK, LTT. It is basic Thanksgiving kinda meal, but very tasty. Ohanas at the Poly is very good. Mostly meat with a few potatoes thrown in. WCC at WL is very good. Fun place to eat. Stick with the skillet at WCC. Trails End is good but the breakfast seems to be their best meal.

We love LLT at Dinner and Ohana at dinner. This time we are trying Tony's Town SQ.
