We are at WDW now. I had a 3:15 flight home, ME pickup at 12:25. Flight now delayed until 5:15. Concierge said they don't adjust ME times as flight could go back to original time (really? Do they ever once delayed?) I asked about getting a later shuttle to airport that I would pay for and he discouraged it. Not sure what to do. Any advice appreciated!

UPDATE: We did take our regularly scheduled ME. Our flight ended up being delayed three hours but it wasn't horrible. Orlando airport is pretty nice and we made the best of it. Unfortunately, our luggage did not follow us home. There were two other families, all from the Beach Club (we were at the Yacht Club), and their bags didn't make it either. So that was kind of a bummer but they were delivered about half an hour ago.

So thanks for the advice, I wouldn't have wanted to take the chance on missing our flight, even though a few more hours in the park would have been great!

I would go at your scheduled time. They do sometimes go back to the original time or earlier than the delay time. If you are not there, you are considered a no show.

Exactly! Airlines frequently DO revert back to an original departure time. Most likely, your current delay is due to weather, and that can be very unpredictable. The airline may also adjust the departure time again if another aircraft becomes available. As unpleasant as it is, it's definitely better to wait it out at the airport than to miss your flight and have to pay additional fees to re-book. Good luck!

Thanks to both of you for the advice, we will stick with our ME reservation, don't want to chance it.

On to one last ride on Soarin then back to the hotel!

Look at it this way - you'll have time to have a nice leisurely lunch at the airport.

Think of this situation:

Due to bad weather the incoming plane which your flight is scheduled to use is delayed. Your scheduled departure is changed by 2 hours. The incoming flight is further delayed, or even cancelled. The airline finds a different plane for your flight. Your flight is now scheduled to leave at, or near, the original departure time.

edited to add: The most likely situation is your flight will leave at, or after, the delayed departure time.

Yes it does happen.. Happened last Feb our flight was delayed 3 hours. We got through security and decided to check the boards again only to find out it was not delayed. Went to the gate to varify and yes our flight was no longer delayed.
