Help! I'm starting to like Sandra Lee

Hey, be kind -Sandy needs all the liquor she can get after her billionaire husband (KB Homes man Bruce Karatz) put her through their nasty divorce! :lmao:

I watch her occasionally since I love Ina Garten and she's on TV here right after Ina's show(Barefoot Contessa) - oh, I wish I was one of those friends of Ina's! You know, one of the one's Ina always cooks for and brings food to? Yum! No Cool Whip icing on a store bought angel food cake there for sure! :teeth:

Reflection-I totally agree with you when it comes to Sandra Lee wasting food. I watch her shows often. I saw her make a dersert where she did something similar with an apple pie. When I did some math as to what the desert probably ended up costing by the time she got done with all the ingedients including the apple pie it was rediculous. I have noticed this same trend with alot of her recipes. She opens one item or ingedient and uses just a part of it and then what do you do with the rest?

Saturday was her New Thanksgiving special and she made a Cornbread Dressing that was not a traditional recipe. I can't remember everything that went in it but I know she put in cubed cornbread, creamed corn, chopped water chestnuts, Italian Herb Marinade, Jack Cheese and Chicken Stock.

It's too late at night! I thought the thread said Sandra Dee and was amazed that she had a cooking show since she's dead! :confused3 (no offense to Sandra Dee, since I always liked her movies)

God, does she ever love putting alcohol into her drinks/recipies...
Hmmm... Maybe THAT'S why I like her show.

DH LOVE to watch her because he is waiting "the girls" to fall into the food.

I can't stand her. Everything is appearance driven and a lot of it doesn't look like it will taste wonderful. I'm all for using shortcuts and do so all the time, but can't stand her show. JMHO :sunny:

What she said.

Not to mention I hate that she is always wearing shirts with long, baggy sleeves and they always get in the food. Yuck!

I can't stand her show. I have a problem with the set matching her clothes. I also love shortcuts and use them when they make sense, but I cannot understand using canned or processed foods when fresh is as easy or in many cases less expensive. I don't know if it is true, but I read hat she has a contract with Campbells so she incorporates their products whenever she can use them.

ok, the billionare ex explains the matching Kitchen Aid mixtures. I have never seen anyone have that many mixers, just so she can color coordinate her theme. Also agree on the cooking attire. Does anyone get that dolled up just to get messy in the kitchen. Do get me wrong, she is ok, but she is a alky.. :rotfl: I mean she even calls the kids drinks kiddy cocktails...

no..I like Ina also, and Rachel

:rotfl: My DH too! In fact, if he comes in and catches me watching Food Network, I've noticed that he will stand and watch it if Sandra Lee or Giada DeLaurentis is the host. I think he thinks I don't know why. :p

Isn't that the truth....I'm hoping for beach party show and know the girls will be stopping by.

oink oink

I can't stand her. My Fiance likes her. She dresses like she's a teenager and her table-scapes are way over the top. She annoy's me with every aspect of her

Well that explains a lot. I wouldn't be surprise if there is a similar deal in place with Lawry and Schilling for those taco 'seasoning' packets she uses pretty regularly. And she must be making major moolah from the Cool Whip manufacture. She slathers that stuff over everything. :rotfl2:

Would I love the deal she has with Kitchen Aid. Just imagine: a Kitchen Aid mixer in every color of the rainbow to match the color du jour of the kitchen. :thumbsup2

That stuffing sounds positively R E V O L T I N G! I didn't see all of this episode. What was the cocktail du jour? One would need quite a bit of the drink to dull the tastebuds before eating that dreck. :lmao:

I totally forgot to mention the fact that her kitchen matches what she is wearing. That irks me to no end

My DD will put her show on to prove that there are worse things than NOT cooking (my DD hates to cook) Her recipes sometimes are just that. I saw her chili recipe and it has no seasoning in it....none! If someone is using her show to help them get started in the kitchen they may not be able to separate the shortcuts that help reduce time and the tips that are there to satisfy contractual agreements. SHe was trained at the Cordon Bleu so there is no reason for some of the mistakes she makes.
