Hello! My 10 month old and I are going to Florida 2nd weekend of march to meet up w/ my husband, who's stationed out there. We are planning to spend a day in Orlando (still haven't decided which park we want to go to, but that's in another thread!)

Anyways, I looked over the brief description on priority seatings on this site and I have the basics. But could someone please give me a good explanation? Like how much does it cost, is it too late for me to reserve one. Which one would be good, because we're pretty much deciding between MK and Epcot. I've been to DW 3 times, but I have never done a PS. And since this is my daughter's first trip, I would really like to reserve a character meal for her.

Thanks! looking forward to your responses!

You said you are going the 2nd weekend in March? Do you mean May? Most of the PS restaurants in the parks come out 60 days in advance. If you have passed the 60 day mark, that doesn't mean you won't get them, just maybe not every one you want (Cinderella's Royal table, especially). With a 10 month old, I would wonder if she might be scared by the big, costumed characters such as Mickey and co., Pooh and co., etc. If that is a concern, you might want to try face characters instead (those who don't wear masks, just costumes, wigs and makeup) such as the princesses, Aladdin, etc. Other things you need to consider: which park you are going to, which meal you want to do (some restaurants only have characters for dinner, for example) and what kind of food you are looking for (buffet, family-style, etc.). So in other words, if you give us some more information I think "we" could give you some more advice;)

I apologize for being vague! It must be the excitement.

Thanks for correcting me. Yes, I do mean May. We're still working out the details of our trip, but we're trying to see if we can stay in Orlando for 2 days. That way we could go to both Epcot and MK. I don't know which restaurants do character meals in either of these parks. I'm not really concerned about the characters scaring her. She is a really sociable child, so I think she'll be ok. I might be wrong when she actually meets a character, but hopefully we will find out. As for the type of meal, I'm not sure about that either. We are on a budget, so does the type of meal differ in price? But it really doesn't matter to us what type of meal it is.

I hope that helped. If you need more details, don't be afraid to let me know:) I will try and give you as much as I can, provided that we've worked them out. Thanks!

For more information about Priority Seatings, or PS for short, use the links in my signature. Happy Planning! :teeth:

A really good character meal that has good food (even though it is a buffet) is the Crystal Palace. You will see Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger. It is in the MK so if you are only there for a short time, you won't have to leave to see the critters.

A priority seating doesn't cost anything. All it means is that you get the next available table for a group your size when it becomes available. Sometimes you don't have to wait, sometimes you do depending on how crowded it is.

Breakfast is the least expensive and dinner the most expensive. There is really not much difference in price between any of the character meals at the parks, the resorts are generally a couple of dollars more. Try this link, there is lots of information on the different character meals: http://www.wdwig.com/dining.htm Good luck, I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you decide to go.

PSs are a complimentary service and the number is 407 wdw-dine.

I would suggest Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern at the MK, both are character meals. Pooh is the highlight of CP.
At Epcot, pick one you are interested in. Most of the countries have wonderful food and they are very accomodating to the mousekeeters.

Has a listing of menus that are very helpful.
