I am really struggling. It started with my weekly weigh-in on Friday. I was up two pounds without a single slip. I knew it was most likelyl hormonal as other PMS symptoms started to creep in.

Yesterday was horrible and today I am CONSTANTLY fighting the cravings. I don't want to cheat but I feel so, so weak.

Any encouragement would be greatly appreciated :)

I really don't want to lose my Cheat Free star :(
 
It is hard...when the cravings start coming.

Get a small can of regular v8 veggie juice. It usually only takes me a couple swallows to even out the cravings.

QUICK!! Go to the nearest drug store and go to their candy aisle.... look for Hershey SUGAR FREE chocolate bars or Reese's Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups or Russell STovers SF Turtles- these are all delicious and you can eat 5 pieces for only 1 crab! BUT BEWARE!!!! Don't eat too many- or you will pay with stomach cramps nad the runs! Sometimes just 1 little piece is all you need to get you through- although I mmust say that i TEND TO EAT TOO MANY.....and then the weight loss slows. SO- having those 2 warnings- if you think you're gonna blow it eating something you're not supposed to, then this is the better of the 2 evils..... OR, now that I'm thinking about it, you could do SF jello and whipped cream or diet root beer and heavy cream- tastes llike a root beer float!

In any case......... HANG IN THERE- if you can conquer on one level or another, then you will see great boosts to your self esteem!

You can do this!! Try an endulge bar, or maybe some celery sticks with the Axelrod sour cream and onion dip and dressing? How about some nuts? Or some strawberries?

But...if you should give in, and have something, don't beat yourself up over it, just get back on track (don't wait until monday, next week, when school starts...etc..) and know that we will be here on the board to cheer you on!

Drink lots of water and eat small snacks often. Something that is on your plan.

If all else fails, go get some of the candy Karebear mentions. It's better than an all out carb binge.

I don't do Atkins, so I don't know what to tell you as far as what to eat is concerned. Just want to offer my support. Don't give in, just think how great you will feel at your next weigh in when you have lost those 2lbs, (which are probably due to fluid retention) and more besides.
 
Honey, you can do this. When you have a craving eat a small bit of protein with fat, wait about 20 minutes, then if you are still craving have some sugar free chocolate or a sugar free hard candy.

Are you in ketosis? I haven't had any cravings since I've been in ketosis, on the other hand I am supremely menopausal so that might be why I have no cravings.

Hang in there, it will get easier. Make an Atkins cheese cake or one of the mock danishes, those are both great for cravings.

Yes I am in Ketosis. Well, I'm sure I've knocked myself out of it these past couple of days with all of the Endulge bars and cream cheese/splenda type treats I've been having to keep the sugar at bay. For the most part on Atkins I have no cravings. But PMS still throws me for a loop. I am actually diagnosed PMDD but haven't been taking medication for it for a few months now. I've been delighted that Atkins has helped so much with the hormonal imbalance symptoms. But this month has been a doosey! The problem is, I never know exactly when its going to lift since I have somewhat irregular cycles.

Just a few more hours and I'll have 25% of the 100 day goal behind me... Oh I hope I hope I hope :)

Don't do itttttttt! :eek: You can't do it. One more day and you'll be up to 25!! If you cheat, then it's all down the drain and you'll have to start all over again. Be good and prove to yourself that you can do it. ;) If you cheat, you'll feel obligated to come back and tell us about it. You don't want to do that, now do you? *taps foot* :smooth:
 
Well I didn't cheat, but the circumstances that wiped out my appetite are awful.

My daughter has been suffering with depression for a couple of months. I finally was able to get her therapy and she is supposed to start medication in another week. But she went out and took some pills and came home sick and disoriented. I took her to the ER and we spent 7 hours there. She wasn't trying to harm herself, just trying to feel better. So now I am battling with the powers that be to get her the intensive help she needs. You would not believe how difficult it is to get help. I guess demand far outweighs supply in this field.

But, needless to say, I have no appetite now, I only wish it was for a good reason :(
