Hi all, my second post, Yikes... about two months away from our first cruise and I am still in the dark on the Nassau deal. I know my kids would love the dolphin encounter - has anyone done the Dolphin Encounter on Blue Lagoon - is it good, and did you have to book it separately from Disney???

Also, I am an ice tea freak - do they have coffee makers (in my case, water heaters) in the rooms? I would BMOT (bring my own tea)....

I am SO excited - I think I'm more excited than my 5 and 9 year old :)

thanks for any feedback, Laura

Just wanted to answer one part for you - No coffee maker or hot pot in the room - Some people bring their own -

No coffee makers in the room but at the drink station up on deck 9 there is hot water available all day and most of the night.

I think they always ice tea available on deck 9. If you like your own tea bags, they also have hot water to make hot tea. You could fill your own cup, brew your tea and add ice. If you asked for a pitcher, I'd think they would bring you one to have ice tea in your room around the clock.

Hi. You can do the Dolphin Encounter through Disney. I recommend the Dolphin Swim, instead. It's more money (about $145 per person), but it's worth it. You actually go into the lagoon with the dolphins! We did it a couple of weeks ago. We swam with two of the dolphins from the "Flipper" movie with Paul Hogan. I've never been that close to movie stars before. They weren't the least bit vain. They are amazing animals! You wear a wet suit and a life preserver, so you aren't going to sink. They start out swimming in front of you and you get to pet them. You dance with them and those dolphins can really boogie! You get a kiss on the cheek and on the lips from them. One single lady in our group said it was the best kiss she's had in 5 years. You have a maximum number of 10 people in your group. They jump over you. I can't imagine how much speed and strength it takes to jump that high out of the water. They also line-up two dolphins (one on each foot) and push you around the lagoon. I did this with our 9-year-old son and he says the Dolphin Swim was the highlight of the trip. They videotape the whole thing and you can buy the tape for $45. You book the swim through the Blue Lagoon people. Disney handles the Dolphin Encounter. We booked the 2:00pm swim and I recommend you do the earlier one. We were worried about getting into Nassau late and being late for the swim, but that's not anything to worry about. If you do the early swim, I think you can stay on the island for awhile. It's a beautiful island. We had to rush back to the Wonder to make our dinner seating. The Encounter looked like fun if the Swim doesn't work for you. Hope this helps!
