Im planning a last min trip to WDW and have the dining plan. So far I have gotten a few ressies. Im traveling with picky eaters. So Im looking for ideas on restaurants with similar kinda menu items.

We all like:

Le Celliar
Coral Reef
Liberty Tavern
Chef Mickey (Dinner)
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)

Any suggestions on other places to try?

I'd like to broaden my search options. PS - we arent breakfast people. Hubby likes plain stuff, maybe mild sauces on meats, pizza, roasted chicken - nothing funky or heavily seasoned. All the places above have something for him. I like lots of stuff. And the kids menus have worked well too. They are both anti-taco, so no mexican food. :sad1:

THANK SO MUCH!

My suggestions:

-Crystal Palace dinner (something for everyone, more choices than 1900 Park Fare IMO)
-Biergarten dinner (German buffet but they have your basic meat and potatoes, hot dogs and mac & cheese for the kids, delicious food and wonderful entertainment)

We are also planning to try Whispering Canyon Cafe when we go next. They have the Canyon Skillet which is all you can eat, with meats and potatoes, and also a very nice a la carte menu is offered. Supposed to be a great place for kids too!

What about Big River Grille or ESPN Club? Basic American pub fare is offered at both places, but no ADRs there unfortunately.

DH, the boys and I are also planning to go to Spoodles (Boardwalk) one night for dinner and to Captain's Grille (Yacht Club) another night. We are staying at BWV from now on (new DVC members) so we want to check out the closer restaurants.

Cape May Cafe also has the clam bake buffet for dinner, but there are other choices like ribs at the buffet (not only seafood). Also the desserts are supposed to be excellent there. We are going to check that out too.

I'd try Tepan Edo, the habachi restaurant in Japan. Even though it's "foreign" food, I found the meat to be very tasty, and entertaining show, and nothing too "out there." The spices used are pretty much just salt & pepper (which is great because my stomach doesn't handle anything much above that!)

If you like CM and Park Fare for dinner you might also like Crystal Palace

I agree. We really like CP. What about Grand Floridian Cafe or Kona? The menus are pretty straightforward and the ride by boat or monorail to the resorts is fun.

How about 'Ohana? We thought the food was good and it was a good time. It's really just grilled meat and shrimp on skewers with noodles and salad. Even if someone didn't like the banana foster bread pudding (:scared1:? ), you could just eat the vanilla ice cream.

50's Prime Time could be an option, too.

Check out the menus online on this site and don't forget that with most entrees you can usually ask for sauce on the side or request a different side item. We've done this for dm and most of the time it's been no problem. :thumbsup2 (We've even paid for an adult portion of a kid's item.)

Have a nice trip.

My DH is also a picky eater and he really enjoyed Crystal Palace, we ate there twice, Whispering Canyon is good and we all enjoyed the Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club resort.

Thanks for all the ideas.

The Concourse Steakhouse closed, right? Just double checking.

Yes. (I'm in the minority, but I won't miss it. Had my worst meal ever on Disney property there.) It was replaced with The Wave, which seems to have some good reviews.

I totally agree with Whispering Canyon, Teppan Edo and Crystal Palace. Not quite as happy with Cape May for dinner, but it was great for breakfast.

My DH is the same way. Here's what we like which accomodates all of our tastes:

Tutto Italia - it is pricey, but the food is really really good; "plain" (not in a bad way), fresh, well prepared. Its like clean, simple tastes. He had a pan roasted sole there that was very good.

Spoodles - DH hates mixed foods or overly sauced (or virtually any sauce at all) food. The pan fried chicken cutlet is perfect for him. He really enjoyed this.

Hurricane Hannahs @ BC (counter service) - they have a grilled chicken flatbread-wrap type thing that we both really liked. Its right off the walkway around the lake and makes for a good lunch spot.

He also enjoyed Narcoosee's and Yachtsman. My DD likes to eat steak and both of these places met her satisfaction :thumbsup2 The overall choices on kids food are lacking. It would be nice if there were more basic grilled chicken on the kids menus. Sure burgers, nuggets and hot dogs are great to have occasionaly but after having those choices for multiple days in a row, it gets old.

We are trying 9 Dragons in January and have multiple ADR's at Tutto on that trip.

if you like Le Cellier steaks & seafood, try The Wave at the Contemporary and the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. Both have good steaks along the lines of traditional "meat & potatoes" (also yummy, yummy desserts items.)

Ditto on Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom for buffet with a lot of "plain ol 'Merican' choices." Same with Cape May Clambake (another buffet) at the Beach Club resort...lots of non-seafood choices like fried chicken, beef sirloin on the carving station, etc.-and the desserts are very, very good. Also Hollywood & Vine at DHS park...some exotic choices, but mostly variety American choices. Tusker House buffet in the AK is also good...although there are a few exotic choices on the buffet to reflect Asian/African influences most of the choices are just straight Disney buffet foods, so your picky eaters will have plenty of choices.

If you liked the Fillet at LeCellier, you might like the Steak Gorgonzola at Mama Melrose.

If you like Chef Mickey, you might like Crystal Palace. (We liked the food even more at CP)

Le Celliar - Yachtsman Steakhouse
Coral Reef - Flying Fish
Liberty Tavern - Garden Grill
Chef Mickey (Dinner) / 1900 Park Fare (Dinner) - Crystal Palace
