Help! I think I bought unusable magicbands!

Just 'won' at auction 2 Star Wars magicbands. In excitement I went straight home to link them to my MDE. Couldn't do it. After a google search I read that media was required at the time of purchase of these, so these would've been linked to someone else's profile. (I understand you can buy magicbands without linking to media on the spot.) Did I just purchase unusable bands? Is there a way to jailbreak these. I'm really disappointed and feel a little scammed.

I am not sure about the Star Wars ones but I am wanting the Haunted mansion one and I know they have to activate it when you buy it. Did the seller say it can be used by anyone?

I believe you are right about being able to now buy magic bands without linking them on the spot. This is for the generic bands though. Any special bands (Star Wars, Frozen, random cash grab from Disney) have to be linked at time of purchase.

They were. But it all went to GKTW so it makes it easier to swallow.
