O.K. I know someone out there can help me. My DD (13) takes lunch every day to school. I pack the same thing...everyday...:scared1: either carrots with ranch dip or celery with peanut butter! EVERYDAY! I keep asking my daughter if she wants anything else? she says I don't know, whatever.. well, she doesnt like sandwhiches, so Iam looking for something creative to put in her lunch as her "main" meal. I usually throw in a bottle of water, something sweet and something like crackers, or chips or pretzels. HELP ME!! Iam at my wits ends with this child!

My DD12 brings a lunch every day.
Never in her entire school career has she bought a school lunch...that's a LOT of lunches I've made!

My DD used to bring a bagel with butter on it.
She also used to bring peanut butter crackers.
Right now, she's just bring pb&j everyday.

Does she like tuna salad? I really like the little packs of tuna that come with mayonaise and relish to mix in and crackers to spread it on. They make them in different flavors now, too.

I also like hummus with pita bread and/or veggies.

What about tuna fish in a little tupperware mixed with some mayo and onion with a side of crackers and a sliced hard boiled egg?

Pasta salad with veggies? Celery with hummus? What about a tossed salad with ham slices and cheese with a side of dressing?

It is hard to please a picky eater, I know, I have a DS (10) who seems to be in a lunch rut.

My DD doesn't like sandwiches either although she will eat dinner rolls with salad dressing on them :confused3 . Don't ask  :rotfl: .

Anyway, she takes things in a thermos a lot. Pasta with sauce, perogies, soup. Now that it's getting warm I'll switch over to stuff like pasta salad (actually just ziti with ranch dressing), with some cheese, grape tomatoes, fruit and a cookie. She also likes lunch meat in a bag with croutons, pepper slices, fruit and a cookie. Sometimes she'll take a yogurt, cereal and fruit and of course that cookie.

I pack DD homemade "lunchables" sometimes- crackers, cheese slices, and some pepperoni slices or ham slices so she can make her own little cracker stacks.

She also likes to have apple slices and peanut butter, or fresh veggies and dip. Sometimes she even likes hummus and a pita.

My son is currently on a yogurt and apple kick. We freeze the yogurt and put a freezer pack in with it and he's good to go.

Mmmm, it sounds like a pretty healthy lunch. Maybe add some crackers too. I wish my kids would take the same thing everyday! It would save me from having to think of lunch items!
My dd also likes yoghurt and cheese sticks in her lunch.

Just a guess, but she is 13. Maybe she isn't giving feedback because she doesn't want you making her lunch? I'm pretty sure I had taken over that responsibility much earlier than 13.

Whole-grain, trans fat-free crackers
Low-fat white cheese slices or mozzarella sticks (such as Cabot or Organic Valley)
Baby carrots
Cereal bar (such as Health Valley Fruit Cobbler)
Bottle of spring water or vitamin water

Peanut butter sandwich on whole-grain bread (use peanut butter with just peanuts and a little salt)
Apple, whole or sliced (preserved in lemon juice and wrapped in a paper towel to prevent discoloration)
Celery sticks
One box of raisins
Packaged graham cracker sticks
Jello pudding pack

Half a piece of pita bread, opened
Canola mayonnaise (spread inside pita bread)
Slice of additive-free chicken or turkey
Lettuce leaves (dark green)
Paprika (sprinkle on poultry slices)
Apple (yellow or red delicious)
Vanilla enriched rice milk (lunch box

Whole-grain tortilla
Spread (such as canola or Earth's Best) on one side of tortilla
Last night's leftovers (placed on half of tortilla and rolled up)
Dried fruit (fruit leather or combination of dried cranberries, raisins and bananas)
Bottle of spring water or vitamin water

Whole-wheat wrap (spread with peanut or soy-“nut” butter and sliced bananas or sugar-free preserves)
Small bowl of berries and/or sliced melon (with colored toothpicks for fun)
Celery sticks and baby carrots (or pickles if child prefers)
Small container of skim milk
Lollypop, Tootsie pop or two sucking candies, such as Nips, butterscotch or Cream Savors

My daughter doesn't eat sandwiches often, either.
Usually she gets 3 slices of cheddar and 2 or 3 slices of monterey jack, used to be with Ritz, but now she told me she doesn't want the crackers.

Fruit(an apple, strawberries, pineapple, banana, clementines whatever I have), a granola bar, a treat(cookies or chips), a small bottle of water and a juice box of iced tea and that's it.

That is morning snack, too(she eats the granola bar and some water usually at that time).

Sometimes she eats mac & cheese(in her thermos), noodle soup, cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, but mostly cheese.

Coming up with new lunch ideas is such a nightmare! Here's a few of the things I've come up with that my daughter seems to like:

-Macaroni and cheese mixed with brocolli or tuna
-cream cheese mixed with salmon (or tuna), either on bread or in a half of a red bell pepper.
-Roll up some lunch meat around a cheese stick
-roll with a little salad dressing, tomato slices and provolone cheese.

Just a guess, but she is 13. Maybe she isn't giving feedback because she doesn't want you making her lunch? I'm pretty sure I had taken over that responsibility much earlier than 13.

Oh no, I asked that question before..she hates buying lunch..that would be so easy, but she said the lines are too long and then she won't have time to eat. She does like that I make her lunch, but come on...there's got to be more to lunches then celery and carrots;)

I also like hummus with pita bread and/or veggies.

Oh yeah, I forgot about hummus, she loves that with flatbread:yay: I got an idea!

A 13 yr old should be making her own lunch IMO.

I know, I spoil her..but it's not the lunch making that I care about, it's finding something different for her to eat. I feel like a robot making the same thing everyday
