Help - I need motivation!! ONLY 5 WEEKS TO GO!!

I've been so good for about 6 weeks now and really pleased with my weight loss. I've exercised regularly stuck to a good, healthy diet. But today I feel so unmotivated!! This weekend DH and I went for a little getaway and I did pretty good on my diet and we walked quite a bit but I had intended on doing my pilates Sun & Mon and didn't have the time. Today when I got up I told myself I must do my pilates and an cardio workout but I soooooo don't want to and sitting here at work all I want to do is hit the grocery store (we're out of food) and go home and rest but I feel so guilty!! My trip to see my family is in 5 weeks and I really wanted to drop another 7 lbs.

Help me wishers!!

It's hardest to get back into a workout routine after a break - you just have to DO IT! You'll feel much better after it's done, but mentally and physically. Remember - exercise is a stress-reducer too. You are putting stress on yourself about it - so go reduce that stress and be done with it!

Let us know how it goes :)

Remember also - the more muscle you have the higher your resting metabolism is - go make muscle!!!!!

You can do it!! 7 lbs in 5 weeks is very realistic, you can make it happen! Go burn calories!!!

Can you Dh go grocery shopping? I know it is hard to try to squeeze time in a day getting things done but you need to try and get some excercise in. If you can't get it in today promise yourself you will do it tomorrow, no excuses. You have to try to get focused again. Remind yourself you are going on your trip and you want to achieve your goal.

You did get some form of excercise this past weekend so don't knock yourself because you didn't do your normal excercises.

You can do it. We have faith in you.

It is so hard to stay motivated, but I look at my weight loss as a thing I HAVE to do, not want to do....I have to do this...to feel better and look better....it keeps me going...
Also, come here to WISH! This place helps me so much!!!

You can do this sweetie. You've already proven it right here on WISH. Don't let a weak moment slow down your progress now. You have come too far and accomplished too much to do that.

Did the "lump fairy" visit your house? You know, giving you that I think I'll just sit here like a lump, today feeling? Sure sounds like it.

Go do your pilates. You will be so proud of yourself when you are finished.

And you will feel great! I am in the same slump you are in! Why do we do this to ourselves? We feel so much better when we are on Plan and exercise. When we aren't taking good care, we feel miserable, both physically and mentally! I hope you do it for yourself. You deserve to feel good. I'm grabbing DS right now and going to the Y! Catch you later. We can compare notes! :)

Always willing to help a fellow WISHer from Michigan! :) So Crzy, where are you? I didn't really get to give you my full motivational spiel, because I really needed to get to the Y right away, or I would have let another day get away from me. :rolleyes:

Easter really messed me up! Not so much the food thing, but just burnt out from going back home to MI and then returning to Fat Wayne to make a glorious (if I do say so myself) Easter Feast. I just kept putting off the whole thing. Why? I still haven't figured out the psychology behind that. I really love to exercise, and I really have settled into a comfortable healthy eating pattern. It is frustrating though, when you feel the pressure bearing down on you from all sides to get this or that done. You feel like "I'll exercise after this or that", or"I just don't have time to make myself something good for me," or "one burger isn't going to hurt."

I think I sometimes come off as selfish or obsessive about exercise, but the truth is, I am a real $*%@& when I don't get it, and that I do understand. It is because I don't exercise when everything else is taking over MY life. I get angry and resentful that I can't even take 30 mins. for myself. :mad:

Today, I took my life back. Thirty mins. or even 90 mins. is not going to ruin dinner, or the laundry, or whatever. It will, however, give me the peace of mind I need to face the day.
Crzy, Please! Give yourself 30 minutes! The groceries can wait. (I know! Mother Hubbards cupboard is bare here, too.) If you're too tired to do Pilates, go to Fairlane and walk. Shop a little even. If you are really in the mood to spoil yourself, get to La Shish and have a smoothy. (Can you tell I miss it there?) Just do something to get you back to you. Holidays can take a lot out of us. Even if you don't celebrate Easter or Passover, (I feel stupid here, but is there a Muslim holiday that coincides with the others?), most still had a long weekend and that, in itself, can throw people off. And if you can't squeeze it in, remember, tomorrow is another day!:p

My minister once told me that once you miss a church meetin', it's easier to miss the next. And four times easier to miss the third. Following this logic, the longer you put off the exercise, the easier it will be to NOT DO IT! So, get up and pilates away! Visualize your seeing the family. How do you want them to look at you? What do you want them to see? Now, get up and do that cardio!
 
I understand COMPLETELY where you are coming from. I had a really bad 2 days. If I hadn't already seen that Nativetxn girl posting- I would've sent her here to send you a cyber slap! But, I can see she's already been here- done that! ;) She slapped me yesterday too - made me come to my senses!!! :) And today- I'm doing much better! I would suggest getting the stuff you need to do out of the way- and get to excercising again. You can do this. I know it's hard to get back into the swing of things- but it only takes once and you're back. Put it on your list of must do things. COME ON!! You want to- I know you do! We are fully expecting to hear from you tomorrow that you have accomplished your pilates. Until then.......
 
I just wanted to send a great big thank you and hugs to everyone for your kind words and kick in the pants!! :p

Thanks to some good karmic luck - when was the last time you went to the grocery store at 5:30 and had an open lane just when you were ready to check out!! and all of your encouraging words I was able to do both the 2 mile WATP tape and pilates and still cook dinner for me and DH. I feel soooo much better and am now back into the full swing of things!! It is so easy sometimes to switch back into old habits but I'm happier sticking to my new ones and can't wait until I go visit my family in 5 weeks!

WISH truly is the best place filled with some of the best people!! Thanks again!
