It has been 7 months since my last Disney vacation, and here are my sins:

I STILL haven't started my scrapbook.
I STILL haven't organized my pictures.
ISTILL haven't decided exactly how I want my book layed out.

Please inspire me with stories of how precious your scrapbook memories are and how happy you felt to finish it.

I never thought it would take me this long to get started. I thought I'd be scrapping as soon as I got home. It is amazing, I know everone says it, but memories fade quickly and I'm afraid if I don't get started soon my already worn memory will only get worse!!

Any suggestions?

Denise

I can't share my album with you because I haven't gotten past the 3rd day of our trip (back in December). But I just wanted to say I know exactly where you're coming from! Maybe you can organize some of your photos in the evening when you're relaxing on the couch??? That would be a start!

Memories do fade fast so I try to write things down as I remember them from our trip (I also have things that I wrote down during the trip).

Good Luck:sunny:

I wish I could tell you soemthing to inspire you. I get like that and I haven't even been scrapbooking that long. I would at least get your pics out and make little notes because like you said, those memories fade fast and like hockymom said. Maybe once you start doing that it will get you in the mood. Do you have all the Disney stuff you want to use, maybe a trip to a store and seeing the products will inspire you.

I have some inspiration to share...not always but this time I do.
We went to Disney about a month 1/2 ago with a dear friend and her kids. She is battling melanoma and her future is very grim. The trip was perfect and I do mean perfect. We had so much fun and it was wonderful to see all the stress disappear from her and her kids faces. right before May she got some bad news. has a new lump and they feel she has another one lower in her leg and also some new ones where her initial mole was removed. I went to a crop on May 1st to work on a special book for her to remember what she has to live for and something for her kids to look back on.
Hardest book I ever did. Initially I couldn't wait to do the book Because I honestly believe things were going to ok. Then she got all this news before I started. I Finally finished it on Sunday and will give it to her tomorrow hopefully.
It will be a memory book like no other for her family she isn't a scrapper and has pictures stored in boxes.
So think about those pictures of yours and that fantastic time! Revlieve the moments while you sort the photos and think abou the pages, feel the colors, think of the sites and sounds and how much your family will enjoy looking back at this moment.

Spinning, I cannot begin to imagine how bittersweet working on this album (& completing it) has been for you. However, this album will be VERY SPECIAL to your friend & her family. It will hopefully bring back memories of happy times spent together at WDW! Take a deep breath as you give her the album.

Denise, if starting the scrapbook feels overwhelming, then try doing a few pages or a particular theme at a time. I am finding it easier to do a few at a time.

I took all my photos from growing up out of the old sticky albums over a year ago. I have had piles & boxes of photos all over our guest bedroom. The piles are all in boxes now since we had company last weekend & needed the bed :). My hope is to have everything ready to scrap before I started any pages.

Well, .... finally one night I had a thought! I started a scrapbook of one theme - weddings I have attended over the years. Some marriages are still in tact while others have dissolved. Regardless of the current status, I did some simple scrapbooking of these weddings. The pages did not have to be perfect or absolutely beautiful, but practical, simple & tell a short story like how I met/knew the bride &/or groom. I even got reacquainted with a grammar school friend!

I started another book of just my first cousins. I had four cousins' wedding photos & started with those photos. It gave me a starting point.

Good luck & maybe try a few photos or pages at a time!

For a easier and less time consuming / yet fun way to get a book done I pick three colors to use throughout the book. For Disney you could use Red/Yellow/ Black.....I buy loads of paper in each color, stickers that are related in the same colors and letters to match. Also remember the papers dont have to be solid colors just in the theme. So you can have red polka dots, black gingham, yellow swirly and then all the solid colored paper. Then pick a style, like borders and headers for your book. The last Disney book I did from three trips made 10 plus years ago was all Disney borders. I was able to assemble 28 pages in one day by premaking my borders, laying them in a box with the pics they went with and so on......like power layout method. Then get your pics and pages done and go back and journal later on a quiet day with a nice cup of tea, when you can think back on the trip and the mood of the day.

Good luck!

So much great advice!

Spinning, Thank you for sharing that touching story! I know your friend will cherish that book. She's lucky to have a friend like you!
